Here are the % in teams

Corey Enright - 1.59%
James Kelly - 1.53%
Robert Murphy - 1.61%
Josh Gibson - 2.19%
Grant Birchall - 6.67%
Shannon Hurn - 5.59%
Sam Fisher - 3.27%
Luke Hodge - 17.9%

Andrew Mackie - 1.13%
Bachar Houli - 1.29%

Take out the 4 in bold and add in the following and you would have a bit of a better Unique defender poll.
Howe 0.80%
Duffield 1.61%
Huley 0.88%
Dunn 0.62%

Really surprised no-one has picked Houli and that he is in so few teams. Has missed 2 games in 4 years and has had averages of 83,83,89,91.

LUKE HODGE AT 17%!?!?!?!? wow i absolutely did not think he would be that high!

Personally anything under 10% is just about unique... i really dont find howr, hurley and dunn as significant.. duffield has a good history but his team seems to always have injuries in the back which changes his role alot throught the season.

Anyone thinking kelly over hurn? I had hurn last year and burnt me pretty bad. Kelly has been good in previous years and with talk of more mid time could be worth a look

I really rate Kelly as a top choice this year. However, there are so many nice round 11 bye defenders, I plan on picking one up as an early upgrade (depending on who's travelling well) and one during the byes, so I won't start with any.

Kelly, Simpson, Birchall, Smith, Jaensch etc.

Geelong has their bye Rnd 13.

Indeed they do... I might just switch him in for Hurn then ;)

Seriously considering McGovern for D5

Take out his 2 sub games and he averaged a fraction over 90. Of the 11 unsubbed games he only had 1 really shower score, but the majority of his scores were 80+ with a couple of big tons

Gigantor

Not a bad choice, If Darling is out for an extended period he should have more forward chances

Exactly :)

At this stage, I'm pretty much locked on D1-4, but it's 5 who is up for grabs, and right now McGovern and Newnes are the two frontrunners for me, but also keeping an eye on the rest of the pack ;)

Ricochet

McGovern's huge 143 was when he had a big last quarter and everything he did got massive points. He won't get that kind of scoring under the new multiplier scoring.
His other two 100+ scores were from him playing down back

So if he's going to play fwd in the absence of Darling it might be a bit too risky

Good point, but I reckon Lycett plays more forward in the absence of Darling

Saw this on HeraldSun

JASON JOHANNISEN (Western Bulldogs) $344,500 DEF

Some interesting numbers on Johannisen were found when reading through the forums on SuperCoach Scores: Johannisen averaged 113 in games in which Shaun Higgins didn’t play last year and JJ averaged 85 after the Bulldogs’ bye. Of course, Higgins has left the club and Johannisen has had a full pre-season. Johannisen says he has a licence to attack under new coach Luke Beveridge: “If I see a gap, I’m going to take it.”

Thoughts?

I was only just driving home from
Work saying when I get home I am putting McGovern into my sc side ...

And I think JJ is a great look One I was not really hoping to be talked much about ... He along with about 7 300k-Langdon blokes I am looking at
