Hi Lads
first draft for this year, looking for a couple of PODs so I've thrown a few unusual picks in there, what do you think? Would appreciate any feedback!

Actually love this team.
Not sure on Rance and McGovern picks though ???
Maybe change those two and it would look great.

Thanks mate, yeah I'm sure they will probably change (10 times b4 season start!) but I think McGovern is an upcoming star and Rance is fairly solid and consistent which is what we need down back.

Good points!
Don't think either will go backwards so could be good pods!
Would love your thoughts on mine!

To many west coast players...? West coast may struggle to make the 8 this year.

Rance No... better options!

Pick Bell Chambers in the ruck if you want him, and get someone better ni the fwds

A fwd around NicNats price will average higher then him and is less risk.

Also downgrade Jacobs to Goldy 50k in the bank and they will average close to the same. Upgrade bell chambers to jacobs if he is up and about!

Thanks mate will def downgrade Jacobs and see what I can do with the extra $

There 4 mate. And we will make the 8.

All good eagles picks. Just not sure about Mcgovern. coul turn unto keeper... Defence is where risks will need to be taken this year so could pay off. Just dont know about 2 risks in rance and mcgovern. Maybe only go one of them!

DEFENCE: only one of Mcgov or rance if you want the POD, not both ... i'd say get rid of mcgov and if you want an eagles player then take hurn (way higher scoring potential than mcgov) otherwise a fisher might be good who's enjoying an uninterrupted pre season.
MIDS: Pretty decent, watch vandenburg as he's still rookie listed so may be a future downgrade target. With a few rookies available maybe downgrade swallow to rich or another rookie, krakoeur? that frees up money to upgrade belly in fwds.
RUCKS: No use in picking Jacobs at top price, may as well go sandi/Goldstein, save 50k for not much scoring difference. If the sub (read) is in there purely for ruck cover then go cox as he's cheaper.
FWDS: If belly is in there for ruck cover then upgrade Mitchell to a goddard or martin with the money saved from downgrades. Try to fit mitch clark in if you can as should get games but if you want an eagles player pick newman instead of lamb as he is more likely to get games.

Hope this helps.

I really like the Burgoyne pick, not that many people will go for him so he could be a handy POD. I think when the Hawks have a full team he generally plays a bit through the middle and he is one that I think you have to start with compared to look at as an upgrade target as I think most of his good scores will come early before a lean patch and he picks it back up.

I would say no to Rance and McGovern. KPP's can be SC hell, especially in the backline. Unless they are playing loose like a Gibson it is too much of a risk. I am not really a Yeo fan, he has never really impressed me and I don't think he will be very SC friendly, I would rather take a punt on Hendo for a cheaper price or Seedsman for about 10k more. Even someone like Ibbo could be worth the punt over Yeo

Priddis should be a good POD. While some players have struggled after winning a Brownlow in the past he has always been relatively consistent. He should be able to get a 105-110 for you each week and at worst be a mid 8 so he is a solid safe pick from the start. Having said that, Swallow is kind of the same player. He is technically under priced but with more ball winners in that North midfield he won't be doing as much of the heavy lifting anymore. I can't see him getting back to that 108 range making him a top 20 guy. He is sort of in that no mans land, I think the cash can be better spent up forward as you can get a certified keeper for the same price. This may help you avoid at least two trades in the future (barring injuries). So maybe Swallow to someone like Biggs as an expensive rookie or if you want to roll the dice with a mid price guy Daniel Wells.

Mitchell has a few to many question marks for me to be a F3. I think using the cash from the Swallow trade you can bring in a Buddy/BJ/Bennell or another guy you really like. See if you have enough cash to turn Daniel into Salem as that allows you to start Lambert/Lamb on your bench with unknown job security.

Thanks for all your feedback and comments guys, I will definitely be making a few changes to my side, obviously the rookies are all subject to change but I am going to trade out rance and yeo, and make some changes in the ruck and forward line. I'm going to stick with mcgovern, as I think he may have a good year and he is a great pod and I think you need to take at least 1 risk to try and  have a team that will stand out from the others.

Thanks again guys

go Eagles!
