Don't want to make a thread, but what are people's thoughts on a 2 Premo fwd lind? The rokkies are very strong this year.

Franklin, Swan, Salem, Clark, Hogan, Karnezis Steele/Daniel/Krak/Lambert

LOL, perhaps ask this in a forward related thread :P hehe  ;D

If you're going budget in the forward line then I think you still need a solid option as far as F3. I'd stick Titchell in there. I reckon you could roll the dice on it. Depends what it buys you elsewhere though.

Salem at F3 is just crazy talk!!!!!

What about Swan at F3 and Salem F4?

Vulpes

I suppose which line do you sacrifice? is the obvious continuation to the viability of 5 premo DEF. At the moment the forward rookies are miles ahead of anything in the backline, which makes me think 2 FWD premos is fine.

On the other hand, how do people feel in general about massively skewed spending? The biggest problem must be that picking 5 guaranteed keeper defenders is a lot harder than picking the first 3 in each line.

My problem with a packed backline is that with so many defenders becoming mids I probably feel least comfortable with my backline top 10, but they also have the worst rookies. Really torn on this one!

A lot safer.

Having to play 4/6 rookies each week will be tough, 3/5 much more do-able.

Weak as piss, i'll gladly eat my words if the SC winner of 2015 started a Franklin,Swan forward line + rookies.

Remember that thousands and thousands of people will have looked at these stacking line structures for an advantage..what will it come down to in the end?... What it always does, who selects the right individual players with a good structure not far from the norm at all, maybe 1 or 2 special pics, then it's all about nice trading.

If no solid defensive rookies pop up it could be pretty viable. Yeah, you might have an early point lead over the guy who started with only 2 fwd premos. But he'll have a couple hundred thousand to play with that you won't.

Playing a two man forward line is smart because it's where your rookies are at, they will all increase in price and your premium forwards won't avg much more than 100.

I'd rather be insanely strong and weak as piss at the same time than two mediocre lines which will both require large amounts of work and the defence (which is always risky and unknown) will be filled with rookies who at this stage are highly unlikely to be playing...

The two structures (including the midfield) would contrast like this
PD1, PD2, PD3, PD4, RD5, RD6, RD7, RD8
PM1, PM2, PM3, PM4, RM5 etc
FP1, FP2, FP3, FP4, MF5, RF6 etc
Vs a team like this..
PD1, PD2, PD3, PD4, PD5, RD6, RD7, RD8
PM1, PM2, PM3, PM4, PM5, RD6 etc
FP1, FP2, MP3, RP4, RF5, RF6 etc

12 premiums in each - two extra forward premiums in the first team (extra defence rookie and mid rookie) vs an extra mid and defensive premium in the second with (two extra forward rookies)

Team 1 (Two forward premiums ($530kx2) + defensive and mid rookie ($260k) - 100 + 100 + 45 + 70 = 315
Team 2 (Mid premium ($600k) and defensive premium ($490k)+ two forward rookies ($250k)- 110 + 95 + 65 + 65 = 335

So really for an extra $20k you get 20 extra points, another mid premium, safer rookies who will play and a strong looking defensive team which is often unknown and is where you don't want to be taking too many risks - which a lot of people are doing by choosing risky mid privets and rookies who just won't play.

I heavily stand by these wise comments.
Sometimes it's as simple as picking a guy who no one else does based on good research/knowledge/gut feeling/luck who smashes it early & makes that quick swap to a premo before anyone else while have a very good overall structure similar to a few thousand of the other top players. you just need that leg up early then the ability to hold it with smart trading which will involve a few risks.

Haha, I still have this structure although haven't been playing with teams much.
