I'm now really convinced that Swan's best football is well and truly behind him. Sure, he's cheap, but usually you get what you pay for.  Don't like players, especially past champions, who jog around looking smug and half-interested. Think I might roll the dice
on a Bontempelli or Ziebel etc.

Think he is still good value but probably more concerned about the Pies as a whole after that effort last night , I try to keep players in teams that are going to get there fair share of floggings to a minimum and I know it's NAB but that was pretty average from the Pies last night .... he is still in my team for now .

Money Shot

He will be in the top 5 forwards come seasons end.
Gray
Martin
Bartel
Swan
Franklin.

When has Swan ever gone 100% effort in NAB. Don't question it, just lock it in

Starting to question Swan for the first time, his form has been ordinary and he's continued on from his lack luster 2014. It's probably worth noting that Swan only tonned up 3 times last year, the last time being the Anzac Day clash in May. That's a long time between drinks.

Will i stay away and go for Bont. Definitely.

Why are we even questioning him. At his price there's only upside

I'll take an educated guess that his NAB score has planted this doubt now?

He doesn't give two showers about the NAB

Locked

Partly, but more so looking at premos who I think may score better than him - and hence whether or not I should fork out the cash for them instead. Bartel being the premo in question. Despite his price my gut is saying jump on him!

Bartel not in the same league as swan

Um brownlows - Bartel 1 Swan 1
   Premierships - Bartel 3 Swan 1
   Norm Smiths - Bartel 1 Swan 0

Actually I think your right Bartel will go down as a legend where Swan will be just a very good footballer.
C'mon Cortez, you're probly fishing, but it's a bit cheeky to compare a medal won by a whole team in this comparison. Swap them over and cats would've still won the flags.
Both are very good footballers. Both will be top 10 this year.

Surely was talking in fantasy terms, Swan is a fantasy legend and one of the all time greats. In terms of AFL ability than Bartel by an absolute mile.

I think Bartel will average more this year but Swan represents good value.

i did say that in a later post

dont think bartel will match swan this year

Southstorm

Swan was carrying a niggling groin injury all through last year. I'm not sure what stats are available that corroborate this but if you watch his games, you'll notice he had an aversion to kicking long no matter what the situation. So, his poor form can be explained and what's more, the explanation suggests that he won't be struggling again this year, as his injury should have improved in the off season.
