I currently have him in my squad. When the Swans win he is their best performing SC mid and if you expect Sydney to be a good team again get on the train

Money Shot

I had him until he got injured last year and he was a good pick. At his price he could be a good pick up but I would try and find more money and get a Ward/JPK/Sloane kind of player.

Don't think he'll average enough to be a value M8 to set and forget for a 105-8 average. Hope I'm wrong 'cause the Swans will be humming if he is scoring well but I think there's risks with better odds elsewhere.

No doubt he has a massive ceiling, but he needs to get a lot more consistent before I even think twice about him because he does go missing a little too often

This exactly. Throws in too many sub-par scores. He's good value now, but he'll be good value again during the year too.

I am missing one losing game score from 2013

If you don't count the injury game last year his average actually improves to 107 in a winning team.

So do Sydney win when Hannebery plays well, or does Hannebery play well when Sydney win?

Personally I've flirted with the idea since day 1 and think he could prove to be of serious value. This issue is though, as others have pointed out, his inconsistency leads to too many poor games (evidently in our losses) that it's hard to see him becoming an elite top 10 mid. I think he should be top 20, it's just about whether that's good enough from someone at his price.

Mat0369

I think it is a bit of both. As I said earlier, if you think the Swans are going to win a heap of games then he is going to be really good value.

I think the further you look into it he is actually improving some of those flop scores when they lose. The last 63 was the GF so he actually managed to average 96.25 in losses in the regular season. He is starting to gain consistency and is the one guy in the league that has flogged the Crowley tag multiple times.

KJack is another one. at a similar price that is worth looking at.

It's hard to see all of JPK, Hanners, Parker, Macca and KJ averaging around that 105 mark this season tho. Only so many points to go around. I'd say KJ's only likely to average more than McVeigh out of that lot, would much rather go with JPK or Hanners.

Swans mids change roles weekly that's hard to give me confidence to pick them

If Jack plays more forward it will hurt his scoring but if he plays the same role he did early in the season and the previous couple of years he will average at least 105. While he wasn't busting out the 120+ scores on the reg he did seem to eliminate the majority of those sub 70 scores. McGlynn and Parker I think forced him to play that role so you have a point there and it will be interesting to see how it works out.

Feel a bit the same way just can't pick him straight up would much rather spend some more and get Parker , maybe later on in the season he may tempt me if he delivers
