would b great if I can get some feedback/opinions on some defenders via this poll

GoLions

Why does it say "not premos"? They're like, all premos, or players you'd pick expecting to be premos.

I'd go Hurn, Hibberd, Walker as my top 3 there

;) new and improved name

I should probably add that I'd only pick Walker if I was confident he'd play off half back. Hurn and Hibberd will both go 90+ easy as long as they avoid injuries (and I guess suspensions)

I like the idea of picking hurn as a pod but just have never really followed him enough to feel confident, will he get a run in the midfield or just play halfback ?

Hibberd, Hodge and Jaensch were all top 10 last year, how is this "almost sorta not quite premos"????

Hibberd is not a high ceiling guy, more like a Priddis of the backline (consistent as flower but not gonna put your team on his back and win you a game). Should average 90-95, my reservations with him are purely ASADA related.

Hodge is a big game player, less consistent that Hibberd but also throws in a big score every now and then, on balance though I'd rather not have rollercoaster scores in my backline. Scoring can be erratic and I wouldn't be surprised to see him edges out of the top ten this year, pass for me.

Walker's potential will depend largely on how Mick plays him, could easily be a top defender but last year didn't have a SC friendly job, wait and see.

Jaensch was a bolter last year, cemented a spot in the 22 and started putting up some decent scores. I like him more than the other options on the list, but I like others not on the list more than him. Can he back up last year again?

Lumumba - Tooooooo much risk for 417k, new team, bit of a loose cannon exit from Collingwood. The only upside is he should see a lot of ball at the dees which could go in his favour but no for me.

Hurn - a couple of down games and his injury games make his average look a little sad but I think you can bank on 90+ from him most weeks with a pretty decent ceiling for a defender as well.

Murphy - just getting on a bit in years, but certainly has the potential as he showed a couple of years ago. Captains role may make him lift his game? But a bit much risk for me...

So:

Hibberd, Hurn and Jaensch for me, Murphy a dark horse and Walker takes Jaensch's spot if he gets a decent gig. That said, I fat-fingered the poll and voted for hodge instead of Hurn. I didn't mean it :(

Guys like Houli & Hurn will give you the same ave they do every year, decent picks like your Enrights but no real upside, at least Lamumba has upside with a new lease on life at a new club & talk of more mid time.

IMHO either pick the top Premos (hard to find many backs this year) or go for a player with upside i don't see the point in these 450k backs who will just deliver what they do ever year, would only go a Enright type player if he was the last spot to fill and no better options at that price.
