Unless swan counts as a breakout (I don't)

Zero.

I pay for proven players.

I think your strategy is sound Holz and will always see you in the top rankings by playing it smart/safe but i do believe each year you will be a little bit behind those very few who also have a mostly proven/cookie cutter team but nail those 2 or 3 solid improvers.

Jeez round 12 should be fun :P

I'd be picking Kreuz over Nicholls, but to each his own

By that time you will be upgrading your mids anyway so I don't see how it is an issue.

If Warnock or Wood are in the team don't even bother with Kreuz. Carlton play first so we will know by then anyway

Do you know what Holz's best ranking was?

Holz speaks, you listen!

eaglesman

Purely going swan to go with the crowd but I reckon he will fail and will be traded to a breakout forward not game enough to risk it Hough with their early fixtures

Big chances to
Newnes Yeo seedsman Kolodjashnij
crouch, Tyson, wines,
Kreuzer Nichols
JackMartin ziebell titchell salem

Big Mac

Use your trades well and you can catch them

Maybe 1 or 2 cheaper backs would be nice but not holding my breath

Sabretooth Tigers

 ::)
Newnes,  Seedsman
B Crouch
NIL
H Bennell,  J Martin
Of these I think Harley Bennell, injury free, will go BANG in a very big way. Jack Martin is an intriguing player this season.    :)

I like it. 9 times /10, they dont break out. So that puts you ahead of 90% of the other teams already!

+1
Generally you can tell after a few rounds if someone is worth a punt. Got on Swallow last year after round 2 but even then you never know.
If you have more than 2 breakout players in your team, I think you arent playing the odds.

I think you mean a couple. Last time I checked only 2 people were ahead of third ;)

I'll be choosing 1 player hoping to breakout and 1 midpricer that I don't expect to breakout, just hope he makes some coin

It's definitely an issue and you're making it a bit hard for yourself, but I don't mean it's not manageable. Especially with 3 on the mid bench now.

And yeah don't get me wrong, I was never picking either. But as a suns fan I wouldn't be picking Nicholls purely because he'll be sharing the ruck. Way too much competition there.
A couple years ago I started with Giles and it backfired. Won't make that mistake again.

I just read Harley has been carrying a calf injury all pre-season and was one of a few GC players disciplined for going out

Ricochet

No breakouts for me, just a few guys that are underpriced like Lumumba, Ibbotson, TMitchell, Bellchambers

Same here. Haven't got Bellcho just yet but he's on the fringes.

Titch would have to be classed as a breakout. The others not, just underpriced as you say.

Newnes is the other one I am thinking of, but has he broken already?
