Duffield out for 6 weeks, now CPearce can be seriously considered. Watch his role this week in what should be a much stronger Freo side. It should give us a decent idea

Doesn't that mean though Pearce only will be good for a few weeks?
He was borderline before the injury, now he should play early. And Ross rewards boys that play well, so it'll be up to Clancee whether he stays in there or not.

He looked great in NAB1 but it was without Fyfe, Ibbo, D Pearce and also without Duffield, Mundy and Barlow for half the match. I don't think I could bring myself to picking a fringe player at $278k. If he was a definite best 22 player then I would lock him in but it doesn't sound as though he is.

At the moment my D1-D5 are:
Simpson, Shaw, Hibberd, Ibbotson, Pearce.

Starting to look at a contingency plan for Hibberd though and I really don't like any other "premium" defenders this year.

If Whitecross is named (looking unlikely) then I'll probably get rid of Hibberd and role the dice on whitX at D5 and bring a 4th premium into my fwds

Crowley also. Which is why I said keep an eye on him in NAB3 in a stronger side.

Yeah if you're picking him based on that nab game then you're kidding yourself.
I had him earmarked before the nab because I know he can score from having him in 2012.
Has had a few injuries since then and become a fringe player but if he can play well for the rest of the Nab then he should put his hand up for a role off half back

This last paragraph to the letter.   :)

Not a huge fan of picking Clancee

He "might" be able to average 80-90, but why take that risk when his JS isn't rock solid

Would rather pick one of the other similar priced guys with rock solid JS

After all, you're looking at these mid pricers in the first place because of their JS, because there isn't enough rookies with JS

Ricochet

Won't be able to take much away from Clancee's game this wkend. Barlow, Mundy, Spurr, Pavlich, Crowley, Duffield, Dawson all missing from our best 22.

This is true but you would think that with  Duffield's injury and Crowley's personal issues and having only been running laps that they are some way off from returning. Which, should Clancee be named Rnd 1, you would think gives him a decent 4-6 weeks worth of footy to prove himself and cement a spot.

Still a long way off RD1 tho. Crowls is fit, just the personal issue (whateva it is) to play out. It could could come out and be done with very quickly. in which case he'll come straight in. Also Ross implied that maybe Duff won't miss as much as was reported. Even so, the role Clancee plays in our side determines whether I pick him I need to see him in a full strength side first. Because if he's playing his run with role he has recently then I wont be going near him. In his premo scoring year he was given feedom through the midfield which we haven't seen in 2 years.

Woppa15

Didn't realise he had a history of playing a run with role. Hard Midfield to break into, if he was to get a spot would it be off the half back or as a midfielder do you think? Hard to predict I know but you will know more about Freo than I do.

In the past under Ross it has changed weekly, which is why I wanted to see if anything has changed. Because he hasn't put a foot wrong all preseason and came back a lot fitter after dropping the ball in this area last year. I'd like to see him given the freedom he had before Ross, because he is such a good user, but I'm not sure it will happen

Hibberd, Newnes, Carliisle, Ibbot, Geary, Rookie.

Jaksch is looking good

80 in game one and 98 today.

I've never had Ibbo or Clancee in my teams, but looks like they aren't doing each other any favours for our sake

Not too keen on low priced key position defenders (even if underpriced)

tbagrocks

Problem with Jaksch is he isn't cheap for him, undeveloped KP, @ $260, 000  sheesh :-[  but what a game today! Lock in DT but SC? :-[ pricey!

So Ive got WhiteX and Ben Jacobs atm
