Who will be your D5 & D6?

Assuming no rookies will materialise this becomes a critical question, I'm already planning for life beyond Waters & Whitecross and presently have  Ibbo & McMillan at D5 & D6. I'm hoping Lever gets up but it's not a sure thing, ditto Goddard. The defence is looming as the critical area this year, those planning on playing Brown at D6 will be falling into the Rohan trap in my opinion, I'm simply not willing to go there this year.

I am considering a few options based on cash

I think I am looking at a rookie priced player at D6 regardless but my options are these

Downgrade my D4 to Seedsman and get Henderson/Ibbo at D5

Keep my current 4 defenders (Simmo, Birch, Shaw and Lumumba) and go with Macmillan/Pearce at D5

Go with 2 rookies assuming they are available at D5 and D6 and use the 80k elsewhere. So if Jones/Whitecross get games they become D5 and D6, Lever/Goddard or another available rookie with Nathan Brown as a D8

Seedsman/Savage

I like the Seedsman pick but want to see where Fasolo is played, this is the key issue. Not so sure about Savage, can't see a huge amount of upside.

Blues Blues Blues

Currently Yeo/Whitecross. Whole backline in disarray at monent, not happy with it

Shaw, Birchall, Newnes, Ibbo, Yeo, Whitecross

I would like another premo but happy with other lines at moment

Bully

I'm running with Shaw, Birch, Newnes, Lumumba, Ibbo & McMillan for the moment but am not happy about spending 270k at D6. The defence really is a shambles with no rookies in sight.

this is my defense crisis structure

Ricochet

Simpson, Shaw, Hibberd, Lumumba, Ibbo, Whitecross is my current backline.

Ibbo is only in if Dawson gets over his current groin injury by round 1

To be honest, I'm not even going to think about it for now

I just want to see what's what during the NAB, then who gets named round 1, otherwise I'll just be doing my head in and wasting a lot of time over nothing  :-[

True but I reckon its' worth contemplating, Goddard is now looking doubtful based on the recent comments, that shakes things up a bit.

Like each year though, the rookies available round 1 are going to determine what structure we have to go with

Let's just cross our fingers that some kids pop up

I certainly hope so, I recall last year there was a definite buzz player (Langford), not so this year unfortunately.

I can still see a few trades being burnt to try and sort out these rookies.
