My Chumps

I can just see Harley coming out and pumping 110 over the first 8 rounds, but you're right, better off saving the trade.

Reckon Dusty's ready to become elite meow?

This is similar to the set up I was playing around with earlier. Obviously to sure up the backline the forward line has taken a hit. I am not a fan of Belcho as I mentioned so I will take a shot with a rookie. F3 is to weak with Mitchell there.

meow is right with Harley, he will probably be in the top 6 for an unsubbed average but he seems to always get injured. I have him in my likely line up at F4 right now and I just need to hope he doesn't get injured early. I think it is too risky to have him at F2, I think you have to go one of Goddard/Martin (with Lids injured) and see if you can get Harley to forward 3 where there is less risk involved if you have to cover a one week injury

There's no reason why Dusty can't become the #1 inside mid at the Tigers. He's a goal kicking mid too. That puts his scoring potential at 105 to 115. With the Richmond draw I think he's as cheap now as he will be all year.

I backed Parker in last season and this year I'm backing Tmitch. Maybe a little less than a 108 average but a very similar situation and I'm predicting a similar output. I have the utmost confidence in that selection.

Fair calls ala Harley/Dusty though. Had considered Richmonds easy draw for Lids but hadn't considered Martin till recently.

I'd try to find the 20k and get Dusty in there. Lever and Jed down to Brown and Boek might get it done.
Did exactly this and I'll sleep on that for at least tonight haha.

Cheers guys.

I also thought Parker was going to break out last year but I see him differently to Mitchell. Parker in my eyes was following the same career path as Hanners. He had the broken jaw and slow start (Hanners had the shoulder), before starting to play consistently and come of age with a really strong finals campaign in 2013 (Hanners was huge in 2012). I love Mitchell but until he strings games together consistently he is a risk.

I think if he plays he should average around 90 at least, but I think I said this earlier in the thread, he needs to average 100 to be a premium. If you are going to take that risk with him I think you need him as a starting forward 4 for it to be worth taking which is the point I was trying to make. I know you want Belcho for ruck coverage, but if you can afford to turn him into BJ with Martin, Buddy and Mitchell at F4 I would prefer that a hell of a lot more

Bennell is Cyril 2.0. Undoubted scoring potential but you won't get 22 out of him. It's why he's not a full time mid yet, his body can't handle it. I'd try to find the 20k and get Dusty in there. Lever and Jed down to Brown and Boek might get it done.
He played 22 games in 2012......

To add to that, he played all games last year consecutively...

False, he missed round 11 since the injury (calf I believe) was slightly hindering him in his early games back

Take 3 post ruck troubles. 60k in the bank.

Hibbered -> Birchall
Jeancsh -> Z Jones (subject to change)
GAJ -> Hanners
Kruezer -> Minson
Bennell -> Dusty
Bellch -> Goddard
Petracca -> Salem

as well as a bunch of rookie change-ups including bringing in Biggs.

Taken a step back on the defenders; I just can't bring myself to start Hibbered/Jeansch instead of Goddard up front. Seems so counterintuitive.

Hanners back in the team for GAJ which gave me the $$$ to bring in Minson for Kruezer. Also the more assured ruck-line means I could drop Bellchambers, giving me the extra cash to get Goddard for Jaensch.

Tempted at the moment to go Biggs -> Anderson then going NicNat -> Goldy but we'll see.

Tell us what you think!

Time to sit and observe the NAB cup.  Some players do not agree with but that is personal opinion. Sound structure.

cheers Ringo. I said that last team I made tho and then Kruezer forced a whole restructure haha.

Cant take teams seriously without gaz in there.  His score doubles each week.
Go into player profiles and go through his individual scores from the past few years. If you can leave him out after that, you're a brave man.

Believe it or not I have done a fair bit of research around individual scores. Here's my logic with Gaz;

- coming off long term shoulder surgery that he's still recovering from
- near career best average of 136 last season meaning a ridiculous price - GAJ -> Hanners allowed me to go Kruezer -> Minson/Goldy which I think is a lot better than a GAJ+ Bellchambers/Luenberger combination.
- improving Gold Coast side that relies on him less this season i.e. less handball receives, more rotations
- and most importantly, even if you think my last three are completely moot points you have to consider the new scoring rules for scaling that are x2 during the end of close games rather than x4. Straight up that just means he's going to be getting half as many points as he used to for doing clutch things.

I dunno, I will probably end up with him come round 1 but for now this is what I'm looking at.

Can understand your first few reasons man, but don't let the last one affect you. It will affect all players and is impossible to predict exactly how much. GC might have a lot more close games this year compared to last which could counter the change in scoring. Or he may not have had as many clutch points in 2014 as we think.
