That defence is horrible man. Good luck getting 2 rookies to play let alone 5. Much better picks than a tagger in Nick Smith at D3 as well.

You have only included 7 starting mids.

Wells and JOM need to go and become rookies, Sidebottom or Swallow need to become  super premo mid.

Is Taylor Adams best 22 at Collingwood? Probably but is a vest candidate.

Bit of work to do here.

Hey man, always like to see peoples teams that are a bit unique, but have to admit your defence is waaay to weak, considering everyone is struggling to find 2/3 guys who are likely to line up RD1, let alone the 5 you have there.  I can probably only see Clury and Lever lining up RD1, and Clury only if Trengove doesn't come up in time.  Alan Richardson has said that Goddard is highly unlikely, DVR is a wait and see proposition, whilst I haven't heard anything about GC's Saad at all.

I'd be looking at downgrading O'Meara (as he's coming back from minor surgery on both knees) you've listed Newnes in both the fwd line and mid, plus you are still one mid short (I'm assuming you have Heeney there).  Also, no spot for Swan?

Oh yeah, sorry about newnes. He's in my midfield, and Jake Carlisle is in the backline.

Any suggestions after i take out o'meara and two rookies from my backline? Have just traded goddard for swan, leaving me with a budget of $921,000 after takin out o'meara, saad and goddard

TexR74

Oh just realised you meant Hugh Goddard, can get confusing with him and Brendon. In which case forget the earlier post about trading in swan and the budget. My question now is: if I trade out nick smith, Hugh Goddard, Adam saad and Jaeger o'Meara, who do I bring in? Thanks for all the help

OK this is the final cut before the NAB challenge--unless some suggestions are made. Let me know about any improvements

Looking better man, two guys I'd be a little wary of are Beau Waters and Chad Wingard, there's been reports that Beau's had another setback with his shoulders and is highly unlikely to play come round 1.

Wingard had a clean-out on his knee at the end of January and is going to be touch and go to be ready for round 1 also.

Personally I'd be changing Wingard to Swan (-35k), downgrading Adams or Wells to Shane Biggs (+170k), and upgrading Waters with the cash remaining, strengthening both your fwds and backs, and giving you more cash generation in the mids.  I still think you probably have 1/2 too many premo mids, but it's not a bad strategy.  I started with the same plan, but have peeled that back to 4 premo mids + 1 keeper, and really stacked my defence, will be interesting to see which way is the right way this year.

Downgrade some mids and get a real backline.

Kind of agree can't spend to low down back

After the bomb shell of waters being injured I started with just the one trade and then went crazy. Here is the latest team:

Thanks for being honest

Newman wont be playing anytime soon at the Swans, even though he may be just a place holder for you.

You really should take advantage of picking Martin in the FWD line and get another mid rookie

Other than that looks ok. except maybe you have too many rnd 12 bye players.

With such a weak backline and a forward line not much better was expecting to see a midfield full of top guns not to be , puzzling but good luck with it anyway  ;)
