So currently as we stand this is how Haggy Half Back is looking pre-NAB;

DEF; N. Malceski, B. Smith, A. Walker, J. Newnes, B. Waters, B. Whitecross (H. Goddard, M. Dick)

MID; G. Ablett, J. Selwood, A. Treloar, B. Crouch, D. Rich, N. Van Berlo, C. Petracca, A. Brayshaw (B.Acres, B. Boekhorst, D. McKenzie)

RUCKS; N. Naitanui, T. Bellchambers (M. Cox)

FWDS; P.Ryder, L. Franklin, D. Swan, J. Kelly, M. Clark, P Karnezis (J. Hogan, J. Laverde)

Have decided to run with Ryder in the fwds with his DPP with the rucks being a bit of an unkwown this year with a lot of cheaper rucks under injury clouds and no real rookie rucks to speak of. Also taking a slight gamble on Treloar and Crouch as M3 and M4 to start but can see them both averaging around 110.

like the PODS, not sure that i would go Petracca and Brayshaw together tho, can't see them both playing at the same time yet with so much new depth at Melb

Spend less in the mids:
Downgrade rich/petracca to Heeney and Freeman and Upgrade to supe premo mids.
Use last bit of dosh on J.Kelly to Mitchell/Thomas

def: Like the backline. Will be interesting to see where Walker will play this season. Keep an eye on him during the nab games.
mid: too many mid price players.
ruck: standard. Interesting to see belly in the r2
fwd: slightly weak. Wouldn't say Karnezies is in pies best 22 Nice pod in ryder

nice start. should probs upgrade and downgrade some of those mid price mids.

Well Petracca going down makes that decision a bit easier.

IMO you are a gun premo mid short.

There are a lot of rookie forwards who should generate cash. Maybe go Tmitch to a rookie and then upgrade Crouch or Swallow to Pendles/Selwood.

Don't like the Rich pick. Won't be a keeper and won't make enough cash to justify picking him.

Good side none the less.

Thanks mate, yeh the midfield is probably my weakest line although can see Crouch and possibly Swallow becoming keepers at M7 and M8. Just thinking the midfield is where most of my cash generation will come from so don't want to miss out. I agree with you about Rich. Thinking can downgrade him to Newton who I think I need to fit in somewhere. Obviously a lot will change come first team selections and who is or isn't playing.

Agree mids need work.  Would also look at a mid rookie like Steele, Krouker or move Lambert back and select another forward rookie.  This will give you the added advantage of moving your DPP premo fwds to mids if needed.

With the number of mid and forward mid pricers and rookies surfacing take advantage to create a DPP link.

Depending on team selections this is how I'll be lining up round 1.

Def; K. Simpson, J. Gibson, L. Hodge, R. Murphy, J. Newnes, H. Lumumba (A. Saad, A. Oxley)

Mid; G. Ablett, J. Kennedy, P. Dangerfield, A. Swallow, N. Van Berlo, P. Cripps, B. Newton, C. Ellis Yolmen (I. Heeney, T. Miller, A.Vandenberg)

Rucks; N. Naitanui, M. Leuenberger (M. Cox)

Fwds; L. Franklin, D. Zorko, D. Swan, T. Bellchambers, C. Salem, M. Clark (J. Hogan, T. Lamb)

Cash remaining; $6,000

Obviously have loaded up on my defence as I see no cash coming from any rookies. Scharenberg and maybe Goddard as the only real downgrade targets.
Have decided to go with Danger in the Mids. Just have a feeling he could go close to a 120 average this year. Love his ceiling.

Rucks are slightly risky although I feel Nic Nat 'if fit' is nearly a must. Hopefully Luey can do a job and be upgraded at some stage.

Forwards are fairly week although I can see some decent potentiom there. I feel like I just can't start without Buddy and have gone with Zorko as my X factor. Think he will massively go under the radar at Brisbane.

    5                                      1    M. Cox OUT, R. Tarrant IN

A bit of s slow start although pretty happy with where my team is at the moment. Have 211k in the bank, just waiting for my cows to fatten up a little more. The Ablett to Sloane trade has worked so far although having JPK as captain this week didnt.
