He is obviously a gun of the game but he is also known for starting the season off 'poorly' for his standards. I really want to start him though and I just want to see what your guys thoughts are on him

I'd pick him with confidence. I don't think he has much trouble starting well? Here are his first four rounds (averages) over the recent years.

2014 - 140
2013 - 126
2012 - 144
2011 - Concussed early in round 1... first four (full matches) - 118
2010 - 102

Yeah that's what I was thinking but I think it's kind of in those 5-10 rounds where he drops off I think?

Keeper27

i'll get him midway when he's cheaper like the last 2 seasons.

shorty3264

He can at times yeh, But at the end of the day he yearly averages are also outstanding. I wouldn't worry so much about him but more so Stevie J. I think if Johnno misses matches that is whee Selwood could undure some 80-100 scores. Which was the case last year I think.

nperera95

Upgrade target. Wanted to start with him but can't fit him in.

IMO he's not a slow starter as such, but rather traditionally the last 10-12 weeks of each season is Selwood Season. A couple of years I've managed to score him around the low 400k mark right before Selwood Season opened and laughed my arse out of the treehouse.

But the thing is 22 games is starting to get harder at the top of the mids, so IMO you need this guy from the start these days.

As soon as I saw he wasn't sharing the bye with pendles and Gaz I knew he wouldn't leave my team.
Third most reliable, proven pick u can have. Confused why more wouldn't b starting him.

That's exactly what I am thinking he is a top 5 mid regardless of the 'bad start'/clutch points being cut and I am surprised why so many people aren't starting him!

Hey there's 200,000 people going for the car, if people want to voluntarily withdraw from the race we should be supportive.

6 scores below 100 surely doesn't count as consistent...

Does his consistency really matter? I wouldn't care if he scored a 0 one week as long as he backed it up with a 240 the next

If you are going for overall consistency doesn't really matter.
