Bully this is a great team Can't say much negative about it. Structure is perfect and most players are good picks
My only concerns are Wells and Swan but other than that it is a top notch team Well Done!!!! :)

Not overly concerned by Wells given he's unlikely to lose money, I'm anticipating anything between 80-100 which will be fine up until the bye period in which case he becomes Rocky or Fyfe.

As for the rucks, I still have money for Nankervis if he's named, if not I'll go with Read as my loophole player. In the event a ruck gets rubbed out I'll look at upgrading a rookie to someone like Lycett, hopefully by that time the difference in price is negligible. I laboured over Belly and whether he was worth it but feel he'll ultimately miss matches through suspension.

Here's my no Ablett plan, couldn't squeeze Wells in unfortunately but generally happy with all lines. Newton looks the best of the 200k mids although Cripps may get the nod dependent on this week's performance. Rookies still up in the air with Vandenberg still a chance.

like it mate! pretty solid all round, Houli is an interesting pick, could be very good as he is very consistent, especially with the lack of defenders! Ellis-Yolmen has been in and out of my team about 20 times i'm just not sure on him yet, otherwise you're looking the goods mate, have a look at my team if ya like!

The rookies are obviously subject to change, others in contention are Miller, Heeney, Lamb & Vandenberg. As for Houli, I think he can nudge 90 this year and is incredibly durable, I would be surprised if he doesn't play 22 games this year. In saying that, if Ablett is fine for round one I will probably downgrade Houli to Geary and replace JPK with the little master.

Just had a play around to see if I could fit Wells into the picture, managed to do so with $0 dollars remaining. Interested to hear people's thoughts on this team versus the one above. The aspect of this team that appeals is having 2 potential upgrades over the bye period, both Wells & Steven have the round 13 bye. I also like the added depth in the midfield, all players have the potential to ton up on any given day. Maric is slightly risky but I'm hoping he gets rested late in the season, in which case I'll bring in a DPP prospect.

A few similar players to my team.

I prefer the midfield in the one above (1st team) although I am not sold on Griff or Danger. Using the template from the first team what about something like

Griff>Steven
Danger>Beams

and then see what you can do with the cash you pocketed from that move and the Houli>Adcock move. I think the midfield of Pendles, Selwood, JPK, Beams and Steven is a lot stronger then Pendles, Selwood, Griff, Danger and Steven. While top 10 guys from previous years drop in and out all the time I think there is too much risk involved in all 3 of Griff, Danger and Steven especially with Danger in a contract year and Griff needing the back to be managed.

Bully

Judging by the preseason form Danger looks set for a massive year, I really don't think the contract talks will hamper his performance, quite the opposite given he'll want to maximise his value. Prior to last year he had a 112 & 118 average, his ceiling is as high as anyone's and he rarely misses matches. As for Griff, I think the back is a slight concern but I'm willing to roll the dice, again his preseason form has shown some excellent signs and GWS should win quite a few games.

Wells & Stevens are tradeable commodities, the point of this exercise is to place me in a strong position in rounds 12 & 13, keep the points rolling in from the word go and to ensure I make an equivalent amount to a gun and rookie strategy. It's a high risk strategy and I'm not fully committed but it's something I may do pending the form of Wells in the final practice match. It will probably cost an extra trade but it could also yield 100's of extra points, particularly given the uncertainty with rookies.

This is another team based on the Beams & Steven additions. Van Berlo being the beneficiary.

Ok, had a bit of a play around and have come up with the best of both worlds, JPK & Steven in, Gray out for Buddy & Geary to take D5.

Money Shot

That last team is amazing!

Mat0369

Both look really good and it will obviously depend on rookies as we get closer to the start of the season. You do need to take some risks so if you are happy with the ones in the midfield go for it

Bully

Certainly the rookies will shape the eventual side, I have a bit of room to manoeuvre if I downgrade Steven to Wells, although I prefer Steven at this stage. Hopefully both Lamb & Daniel get named as I think they will score better than Hogan (although not with the same JS).

Defence is to risky

Disagree, if Saad is named he's the perfect D6. Geary should average 80 and Brown has JS. The big question is who fills D8, at this stage one of Goddard, McIntosh or Hamling are the  likely starters.
