Defence is to risky

Disagree, if Saad is named he's the perfect D6. Geary should average 80 and Brown has JS. The big question is who fills D8, at this stage one of Goddard, McIntosh or Hamling are the  likely starters.
I agree with Bully on this one!

Both look really good and it will obviously depend on rookies as we get closer to the start of the season. You do need to take some risks so if you are happy with the ones in the midfield go for it

Impressive team and depth.   I had to recheck to see how it got under the wire.   Would like your thoughts on why Swan.   Are you convinced he will be a 100+ fwd this year.   I am struggling to see it.

I'm far from convinced and toyed with the idea of dropping him for Bennell / Gray. Had a look through last year's stats and it's been nearly a year since he tonned up in Supercoach, even yesterday's performance had alarm bells ringing. In the end he's unlikely to lose money so it's not a massive gamble however I doubt he'll return to his glory days, a 100 average is the best that could be expected.

Thanks Bully,   first person I have seen for a while question Swan's capacity this year.  So many seem to think it a given he will go 100+ and maybe back to 110+.     My biggest concern is his attitude.   If doesnt get time in the middle in the first couple of games then it is a done deal and probably an 90+ avg for the year.     If I am wrong and he tons up then I have to bite the bullet and trade up.

The last team is all good if you're willing to have 5 playing forwards. Gotta downgrade a mid to Wells and improve F6. Surely Lloyd plays ahead of Lambert?

Yes, it's looking that way. Here's my updated team, I have Steele on the bench and Saad at F6, had a look through his 2012 numbers and they have been heavily impacted by sub scores, think he's more than capable of a 70 average. If he doesn't get up then Griff gets replaced by Buddy and I'll bring in Anderson or Heeney.

That team looks very similar to mine so I like it ;)

If you swap Griff to Bud will you have enough coin to bring in both of Anderson and Heeney? I'd say Lance is every chance to score the same as Griff, but a loopholed score from Heeney/Anderson will outscore Saad comfortably. Steele won't be there in round 1.

Bully

If Steele isn't named I may have to downgrade either Hogan to Lamb or Brown to Hamling, Laverde is the other wildcard in the pack, if sanctions are imposed for 5+ weeks I'll bring him in.

If all these options don't eventuate and Lambert/Steele/Krakouer don't make the cut then I'll bring in Bennell instead of Buddy.

Cripps doing enough to replace Wells for the moment, have also made plans in the event that Goodes is a no show. Can also upgrade Anderson to Newton as another alternative.

With Ablett back in the frame this is how I'm hoping things pan out. I have Langford at F8 but I'm quietly confident he'll fill F6 until the rest of the team return, I suspect he'll play even beyond that. Other players in the frame are Kavanagh & Laverde (who would make a nice midfield link).

No room for Wells unfortunately, would prefer Danger in the side at the expense of Griffen but that's looking unlikely at this stage. Can't find room for Maric either so will have to ride the Nic Nat train.

Goodes is the lynch pin here, if he's a no show then Griff goes to Wells and I'll look at bringing in Geary & Maric.

As an alternative to picking Ablett I figured I could use Steven as a stepping stone, having done the calculations Ablett could be 640k by round 6 based on a 120 average and Steven could be 500k based on a 105 average. Finding that cash should be easy enough if I downgrade Cripps to a cheap rookie (eg. Neal-Bullen).

Haven't decided yet but the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of not starting Gaz.

I liked your previous team more

F6 worries me, any suggestions on how to strengthen it?

Why does F6 worry you? Clark has shown plenty and Hogan will always be there for backup.
I really like this team Bully. Can't really fault it
