With Goodes coming in this week, should we be more or less keen to trade him out? High BE but could he turn it around?

plumdog millionaire

Last two times he was last on bench and last two times he was sub. Is named last on bench this week too
Take what you may from that

RaisyDaisy

I'm dumping him now

Every chance to start in the vest again and drop another 30-40k

I'm upgrading him to a premo

Bloody ruins my defence loophole now until I was ready to ditch him,now I will have to trade him

Stuffed my trading plans for this week. But every cloud has a sliver lining. Traded him to McKenzie a week early (plus that was my plan for next week) and upgraded Salem to JPK.

Well I can downgrade to McKenzie this week whilst still running this shambolic defence..already have 503k in the bank..

Shaw, Lumuma, Newnes, Oxley, KMac, Saad (McK, Brown)

or Upgrade to Premo

Shaw, PREMO, Lumuma, Newnes, Oxley, Saad (KMac, Brown)

If you choose to upgrade to a premo, you will want as close to a definite keeper as you can get... which is very hard at the moment. It really comes down to whether it will compromise other trading plans you had this week. If you have another priority, take the gamble on McKenzie and pocket the cash. That's what I did, it was either a DEF premo or JPK.

Well I had a few plans.

1. Salem to FWD Premo and Goodes to Premo
2. Salem to FWD Premo and Griffen to JPK (all rooks fine, bit of a correction trade I guess)

thinking it might be time to double upgrade.. can double downgrade next week with KMac to DMac lol and Heeney to GLenn for cash generation again

Sounds like you are in a very similar situation to me. Just a stab in the dark, are you running 3 FWD rookies on field?

My planned trades were very similar to yours:
Salem to Goddard and Griffen to JPK.

So by trading Goodes to McKenzie and Salem to JPK, I miss Goddard at potentially his lowest price but I keep Griffen for another week (just in case there's still hope). I guess I'll trade Goddard in (probably 20k more expensive) next week for Hogan/TBC.

What are you thinking you will do?

I'm in the exact same dilemma myself

I was going to downgrade Heeney to Glenn then upgrade Goodes to McDonald this week, but now I am thinking I have other options

I could downgrade Goodes to McKenzie (meaning I continue to field Ox, Saad and Tosh on field with Brown and McKenzie on bench) then upgrade CEY to JPK

Next week I would downgrade Heeney to Glenn and upgrade Cripps to Sloane giving me 7 prem mids, but still leaving with me 3 rookies on def field

Not sure which way to go. Initial thoughts were to go with the original plan of bringing in McDonald and moving Tosh to the bench, but with CEY missing the next 2 weeks, I'm wondering if I should get rid of him now even though I know he has a few more cash rises left in him, although what if he doesn't return in 2?

Well with Goodes annoyingly playing he probably has to go. Huge sub vest risk yet again.. I'm really liking Pittard at the moment. Some real good scores but only half issue is he hasn't had anyone near from what I've watched. Plus he had the big article written in Adelaide about how he is killing it and 'let off the leash' breakout year for him.. can he keep it up? I may have to keep Griff/Newnes another bloody week. I was looking at Godd, but I don't know, not a very exciting pick. Bit like Priddis in the mids.. gets the job done usually. Ryder has me interested. Traded Uselesschambers to Tarrant last week so lost my ruck cover but could get it back with Ryder who could easily be an F5-F6 for the year and should avg 90+.. Liking Dahlhaus who should avg 95+ for the year..2 POD picks is risky but exciting at the same time!

get 2 more keepers (or probable) keepers then next week double downgrade..

As soon as CEY was not named I was all over getting JPK then I thought about it then realised Goodes is here still! But I'm with you in regards to CEY. Will he come straight back in? SANFL first? Will he continue his awesome form? Not sure.. lot of questions with him. Still want to upgrade Salem I think.

Matt Crouch in as well.. im seriously thinking about jumping off CEY.
But we have good mid coverage and Goodes/Salem/Heeney should really be done before him

Yeah, I have given Pittard a little bit of thought, but for me he will be just that little bit too far out of reach of top 6 defenders to justify picking him. Definitely a POD that could pay off, though he seems to have many coaches interested this week. I understand when you say that Goddard and Priddis are 'boring' picks, but let's face it, if you're going to have Ryder and Dahlhaus come season's end, you'll probably want some safety and consistency in there too. The balance between cookie cutter and POD has probably contributed greatly to the successes of those in the top bracket of coaches in seasons past.

That sounds like a decent plan to me mate, good luck for this weekend! :)

EDIT: Come to think of it, Priddis is a bit of a POD whilst getting the job done... he is in 4.5% of teams, as opposed to Pittard in 4.3% and Dahlhaus 3.5%.
