And by Goodes I mean Brett Goodes.

Anyone else considering him as a real option in defence. WB have lost a lot of experience from their side and he is a distinct possibility to come back into the side for the start of the year.

“We felt with the experience leaving the club over the last two months that Goodesy had a role to play both on-field, in terms of midfield depth, we’ve got a very young midfield and we think he could support that and that was highlighted with his best on ground in the VFL grand final.” â€" Bulldogs Recruiting Manager Simon Dalrymple following the 2014 NAB AFL Rookie Draft.

He is priced at $245,200

With the lack of rookies in defence at the moment, there may only be 2-3 playing come round 1 im toying with the idea of
4x 400-550k defenders + Waters + Goodes/Whitecross + 2 rookies on bench.
If both Goodes and Whitecross are playing id consider dropping 1 premo to keep both and upgrade another line.

Thoughts?

Strange move by the Doggies to rookie list him again.

I think there is next to no chance of him playing round 1 and there would have to be a heap of injuries for him to get a game at all this year.

Agree totally with Ben.

Needs to be promoted to the senior list and there seems to be next to no chance of that happening.

In his price bracket I'd be looking at Clancee Pearce.

SydneyRox

if he gets off the rookie list, maybe, but he would also need to be flying in the NAB cup

I am more likely to pick adam.

;D

Just wondering why everyones selecting brett goodes?
I get there is minimal rookies but do we think goodes can average 90+ for the whole season or are we better off just picking a rookie and sticking it out for a few rounds?

Doesn't have to go a whole season, but has the ability to produce premo numbers. Think of him as an expensive rookie

I hear you mate. He's not in my side. Personally, I don't think these defensive issues can really be answered until the teams come out next week. But, if we get a few rookies and a couple are starting to bob up, I wouldn't think about him. Yesterday's hero.

SydneyRox

Just posted this elsewhere, but I agree, if others dont get named I may have no choice, but he spent most of last year dominating in the VFL and got two games where he didnt do much at all.

RaisyDaisy

For 245k lock him in

Can easily average 80, should have good JS with a new coach that clearly wants him in the side and knows how to score

Does he still need to be elevated?

Elevated today already :)

LordSneeze

I called starting him at the start of Feb. If named he will likely be in 30-40% of teams
