Hey everyone, this is my first team for this year. ive been doing supercoach since it began and have finished in the top 2000 for the past 5 years or so with a high of 149th in 2011. Always been a big fan of the guns and rookie strategy, i avoid midpricers unless they are really tasty. Here goes:

BACKS: Simpson, Smith, Shaw, Waters, Whitecross, Goddard (Vojo Rainbow, McKenzie)

MIDS: Ablett, Rockliff, Pendlebury, Fyfe, Selwood, Heeney, Boekhorst, Freeman, (Vandenberg, Cowan, Drummond)

RUCKS: Mumford, Naitanui (Cox)

FWDS: Deledio, Goddard, Swan, Clark, Hogan, Laverde (Daniel, Lamb)

Referring to it as high rollers team due to me forking out on the top 5 most expensive mids. Not entirely set on all of them, but i like the idea of teams looking at this daunting midfield when versing me. Also, this decision was based in the "Top 10 midfielders 2015" thread in which these 5 guys were always the 5 first in everyones opinion and i base my team on selecting the best players in each line to avoid trading.

Simpson is somewhat consistent for a back, Shaw is actually underpriced and should improve with the new additions to the giants. Smith im iffy on and is interchangeable with birchall or whoever else. Orgininally had 4 guns in defence to avoid fielding hopeless defence rookies, but moved one of these to the mids. Still deciding back and forth.....

Rucks is weird. Im a big fan of mummy and nat, but they are so unstable. Gonna have to have a look at the new ruck rules and drop one of them down to kreuz/leue. Strictly not going with belly in the foreards for coverage because its a waste of a fwd spot, the coverage only really works if you keep him all year, which in my opinion isnt worth it just for the sake of ruck coverage. Ill cop a donut or trade if i have to. I just have a weird feeling that mummy is going to explode though....

Forwards im happy with, had buddy in there for a bit but ill get him when he has a shocker and drops, hoepfully the three in there are relatively consistent. And the rookies in the forward line are good compared to the backs, so im trying to have more premiums in the backline to field better fwd rookie prospects.

And of course rookies are subject to change, basically put in whoever was on good old jock reynolds cheat sheet and didnt look back!!!! Obviously will re evaluate after nab etc.

Thoughts?  ;)

I like the look of this team and the only thing that is missing is an extra premium in defence. I think Waters needs to be D5 at the very least with the apparent lack of rookies in defence this year.

I would leave your midfield as it is. It looks amazing and I would hate to come up against it round 1.

What I would do to find the cash to upgrade your defence is downgrade Mumford. He is just as injury prone as Kreuzer or Leuey but you can save a stack of cash by going either of those cheaper options. I would consider bringing in Ryder for that RUC/FWD coverage early on in the season as soon as possible.

I would then upgrade Whitecross to a premium or a breakout contender with the cash saved on Mumford. I can't see Whitecross breaking into the best 22 and playing round 1.

I like that you have gone with cheaper rookies who are just as likely to play round 1 as some of the more expensive types such as Brayshaw.

How much cash left by the way?

Really good advice, i actually downgraded mumford and added another gun in defence, but then changed it back right before i posted! About 40k left which doesnt make me too flexible so im thinking about changing a few things around. Yeah expensive rookies are never really worth it. I value their money making ability rather than their points so the cheaper the better. Also with the new ruck rules, mid price rucks is a better value for money option than the full pricers. Thanks for the feedback, really good pointers :)
