Haven't done RDT or DT for a very long time,

Here is my first draft side. Tear it to shreds.

The more criticism the better.

Actually not a bad side, the players on the field that is. Only issue is your rooks, they are all very cheap rooks that don't leave you much room to move when it comes down to who is playing in Round 1 to be able to switch to a different rook. If there is one thing I'd pick at is personally with only the one ruck bench is in my eyes I reckon you need to have a reliable back up ruck if something happens. For starters, it will save a trade if you are in a pickle (and they are precious in DT) plus it will also give you good cover for a late withdrawal and with those two rucks its almost bound to happen.

AaronKirk

Rubbish start to the year. Scoring 1736

Currently Ranked 8,058

Rocky has to go. Trading him to Jordan Lewis.

This leaves me with $213,700 left over.

I think I should hold on the rest of my players and give them another week before making any further trades.

Any suggestions? Should I use the cash to make an extra trade this week?

Alka

Yeah same boat as me, also snap on the defense. Let's hope they bounce back this week.

At this stage I think Rocky is the only trade to make and then reassess next week before price changes.

AaronKirk

Below is a summary of the first 3 weeks. Decent round 3 jump to 2,107 points and now ranked 2,569 overall

Trades so far:
Round 2: Rockliff to Lewis
Round 3: Goodes to Hodge, Ablett to Mundy

Pretty keen on Bartel to Bontempelli. Leaves me with around 240k and a bye structure of 9/12/9 which is very manageable

Will probably hold onto my second trade for round.

Any ideas for a second trade or should I stick to my instincts this week and hold.

Mate I can't see any reason for you to make a second trade and as for trading in Bontempelli, I have just done the same myself, so how can you go wrong.

AaronKirk

Decided to go Bartel to Goldy.

I think it seems like a good move for DT. I am not sure if Bellcho is worth more then coverage in DT and to get a premium in it is a good move. I ended up turning him into Motlop for my team but I have Sandi and Goldy with Bellcho forward.

AaronKirk

Another good week in RDT for Peptides FC scoring 2080 and moving up to 686 overall

Just one trade last week. Went Bartel to Goldy by swinging TBC forward. Below is my current team.

I am unsure about trades yet. Will have to have a think about it.

Bellcho has actually been serviceable in DT. Heeney to Krak is probably the best trade I can see for you this week. Not sure on the other trade. Something I am considering is Sandi to Tarrant for a cash grab since he has been a flop, I don't see Nic Nat as a great DT player because he normally is a contested possession machine and has a lot of hit outs to advantage. I guess Nic Nat to Tarrant by swinging Bellchambers back into the ruck will set you up for a ton of upgrades over the coming weeks

AaronKirk

The coverage though will be important at some stage of the year so I will hold Nic Nat for now but he does need to improve.

In AF I did bring Sauce in and he performed well. I wonder if it was just because he was up against Cordy but he would be the option to bring in eventually.

Heeney to Krak seems the logical option. I may bring in a forward or mid premo. Will have a good look at it later in the week.

The difference between DT and SC though is the coverage is only useful before lockout. The cash grab would allow you to get a price rise or two out of Salem/Clark before turning them into the best available ruck (maybe Sauce) and then you can swing Bellchambers back forward again. It also means you won't be losing cash from Nic Nat.

Hypothetically If there is an injury or suspension to a ruck or forward later in the season then TBC would save a trade and be handy. It's an interesting idea but will probably keep my rucks as is at this stage.

Oh yeah, the plan is you keep Bellcho all along, but he only sits in the ruck for a couple of weeks allowing you to make mass upgrades

So for example

Heeney>Krak
Nic Nat>Tarrant using Bellcho

week after

Rich>Upgrade
Salem>Upgrade

week after

Clark>premo ruck and swing Bellcho back forward

AaronKirk

Not too happy with last week, scoring 1992 and dropping to 1,166 overall.

I have the issue of Hodge + Lewis' suspensions and CEY's injury as well.

My first trade was going to be Miller to Glenn but with the mass Gold Coast suspensions/injuries his JS is looking pretty good. CEY is the one I have traded out. I cannot afford to have him and Lewis on the bench - and I'm not trading out Lewis.

The 2nd trade is a risk, but Salem to Zorko is my 2nd trade. Helps with my bye structure and 3 out of 5 scores 100+ for a forward is good enough to take the punt on a decent POD.

After trades for this week here is my current side
