Oh no way, not many are!!

I think Bomber had questionable motivation levels though, you wouldn't want to sack Hird just because you like Bomber more, only for Bomber to walk out after "mental fatigue" a year later, which he's been known to do... Then again, it's just as similar as letting Bomber go to retain Hird, only for him to have to go if the tribunal says 'guilty'. So I guess it goes both ways.

As a hopeful Bomber supporter, I like to think of it as the club just being confident things will end well  :-[

Drak

James Hird is still there because he held the club over a barrel. They had Thompson ready to be head coach. Unfortunately, there is a fine line between being a douchebag and being a genius. If Hird can come out of this whole thing with a successful Essendon era of football, he will be the saviour. If it all falls to pieces, he will be crucified. Only time will tell.

I think Essendon are incredibly under rated because they are hated so much.

It won't affect my SC decisions at all. There are very few Essendon layers I'm considering selecting and even if guys like BJ and Jobe don't play a single NAB Challenge match, they are still bona fide champs worth picking. I guess there probably is one Essendon player who I'd really like to see in the NAB Challenge; Bellchambers. Well, Bellchambers and Giles to see exactly how they are utilised in the same team.

I don't find NAB games all that enlightening.  Coaches mainly experimenting.  Helps a bit with rookie selections and guys returning from serious injuries.

Herd should have fallen on his sword imho. Strikes me as a rather selfish, arrogant kind of man, great player though lol.
