I'm putting Rampe on the radar. I think this fella might thrive with Malceski heading north. I have my doubts on a few so called premium defenders this year. Like the look of him. Could end the season as a top 6 defender. Love to hear your opinions.

Read an article a day or so ago where Longmire said Rohan is first in place to take over the role Eski has left, and he said Laidler or someone else could also do it

Let's see what sort of role he plays during NAB

"Obviously losing Nick Malceski last year as an All-Australian defender is a bit of a challenge to fill his role but we’re confident we’ve got the players in our squad to be able to do that. Jarrad McVeigh in 2013 was an All-Australian halfback so he’s a player we know that can go back and play that role really well. Gary Rohan is a player who is developing in that role at all times and we’ve seen some good flashes of brilliance with him in that running halfback/defender role. Zak Jones is another good player who can go back and give us some real rebound. With those players, and players like Jeremy Laidler who played a lot of football last year, we’re confident that we’ve got the depth to be able to cover Nick."

Not really Rampe relevant, but based on this I'd expect to see Rampe playing the same role he did this year, so not sure he could push into premo status, but could go close

Plenty of discussion in this thread :)
How do I obtain a few more stars and what the hell is a Witches hat wrangler?

Thanks bud.

Just because someone is given Eski's role, it doesn't mean they'll play it as well as an AA player did.

Personally, I think Rampe played his own role really well and he'll keep it.

I like his comments in relation to Zak Jones- high on my watchlist.

In relation to Rampe it is a wait-and-see approach for me. We need to see what his role is in the NAB challenge before deciding whether to pull the trigger to select him or not.

Reading between the lines I agree with RD, that he will likely play a similar role this year and could improve, but would he improve enough to push 90+? I'm not so sure that in the same role he can go from 76.05 in 2014 to 90+ in 2015.

PICCOLLO

Probably already been said in other thread but Mcveigh into defence to make space in mids for Tom Mitchell seems pretty likely.
