Dons

Nope, he'll be lucky to hit $350k, but Kruezer or leuenberger might. They really only need a 120 in amongst a few 100s and they would get there.

Rucks seem to hurt me every year and this year will be no different. Mids and Forwards im sticking with the premiums but really want to wait and see before locking down to 2 rucks i want to finish with in my side. Been struggling with starting both Kruez n Luen (i know, very risky) or Nic Nat with 1 of those 2. To do that though would have to downgrade around the field. I know Nic Nat will rise in price but i feel picking Nic nat at that price would mean he is a keeper. Ideally by mid year I'd be hoping to have Goldy with either Jacobs or Mumford. Thats if they ever bottom out haha

Go with Kreuz and Luey and you will be Praying....

Mantis

yeh couldn't do it. Went Nic Nat and will pick 1 of Krue/Lue at ruck 2.

OK, so with Kreuz now out of the picture, we are down to Leuey, Belly and I know some are looking at Nicholls

I really want to have Belly in the forwards, because if my rucks miss a week or two it will drive me insane having to use a trade to get rid of them to avoid a donut, but looking at the fixture Belly plays before Leuey a lot, so if Leuey is a late out we cop the donut anyway

What are people looking to do now in terms of Rucks?

The obvious 2 options are 2 set and forget rucks, or a premo with Leuey/Belly/Nicholls at R2. Belly could still go into the forward line for cover too, or can he be a genuine starting R2 now?

Kreuz was perfect with Belly in the forwards because Carlton play so much early games, but now with his injury he has really got me stumped in which way to go

I just don't think I can shell out for 2 premo rucks plus Belly in the forwards, but I really want ruck cover. Argh!!

Belly can only be picked as R2 if we are 100% sure he will play first ruck and majority in ruck imo - we can not be sure of this and won't get a gauge in the nab either

You need to hope one of Lobb, Durdin or Nank get games. I am not even bothering with Bellchambers, he won't score enough in the forward line and picking him purely for coverage is a waste if you can get a rookie that is playing games. If there are no rookies then we are in trouble.

I'll be going NicNat & Leuy atm with Belly in forwards. With Belly being no 1 at the bombers hopefully he can avg 90+

90?? Serious??
80 max IMO

Go set and forget and spare the heartache

cortez

With Ryder gone he'll be playing 80% of the ruck, surprising how high a Rickman can score when playing the majority of the time in the ruck

Goosey

If I could somehow find the cash I would take Belly at F5, nothing higher, but I just can't find that much coin and prefer the GNR approach. Looks like I will be taking the set and forget risk and hoping for a R3 rookie to crop up.

Go set and forget and spare the heartache

The heartache that worries me is if one of my set and forget rucks misses a week or two with a minor injury. Having to trade out a gun just for a week or two to avoid a donut will be extremely annoying, and history says its going to happen most likely because it's not often that a ruck plays all games throughout the year, which is why I want Belly as cover

Obviously a cheap ruck popping up would solve all our problems, but I just don't like the odds of that happening

Zac Smith fully fit is very much likely to be the number one Gold Coast ruck. Personally I wouldn't even give a thought to Nicholls at this stage.

The promising news for the Suns though is for the first time during their history at the club Smith, Nicholls and Gorringe are fully fit and all training well. Smith and Nicholls went hammer and tongs against each other in match simulation on Friday.

I've got Nic Nat and Leuenberger with Belly forward atm even though I don't really want to pick belly.

I am going to throw a name into the mix, Will Minson.

He had a bad back last year, and like most rucks that break into that elite category they don't back it up. I haven't heard much on his pre-season and a lot of people are going to get turned off due to him having such a poor hit out to advantage number last season. I am pretty sure I read he lead the league in hit outs to advantage the season he was an AA and a SC star. A lot of people wrote Sauce off last year and he was the number 1 ruck in fantasy land. He is 70k cheaper then Goldstein and has been pretty durable the last few seasons (even playing through injuries). If all the mid price options fail, is Minno a cheaper alternative?
