they very well might but I don't see belly as a good enough out and out ruckman to do all the ruck work, especially against a quality big ruckman, just my two cents worth

RaisyDaisy

LOL I'm now looking at not having Belly at all  :o

Belly is not a keeper.

With Belly as R2 it means that my side has 13 premos (keepers)

No Belly - I would have 14

RaisyDaisy

Well because I have guys like Goodes and 200k mid rookies, I cant start with 14 premo's anymore, so I'm going with 13 plus those guys and 1 mid pricer

The way I have set up my side, its basically a decision between Bellchambers R2 and Premo D4 vs Maric/Goldy and mid price defender at D4

I haven't really considered a mid price defender, but by my calculations I will get more points out of Maric/Goldy and say Geary/Ibbo etc vs Bellchambers and Premo defender which is why I am now looking at not having Bellchambers at all

I always wanted Belly (and still do) in my forward line for ruck cover if I cop a 1-2 week injury in the rucks, but with so many good fwd premiums and rookies available I just cannot fit him in, so I think I'll just have to roll the dice and go without ruck cover and just hope that my rucks can stay on the park, especially for the first 6-8 rounds. By then, I could always look at bringing in DPP cover into the forwards

Just a shame, to spend months of wanting the guy as cover and now I cant actually do it lol

Time for me to move on I guess!

I think if your Premo ruck choices can get through the first 6-8 rounds or preferably to the byes you should be right.

After that you can plan around trading for cover for the run home when players are more likely to miss the odd week or two via niggles or resting and hopefully a Stefan Martin type saviour arises.

Fingers crossed Rusty :)

I guess the other benefit or relief for me is that D3 was doing my absolute head in! Don't have to worry about that anymore  :D

We're going to have the answer as to whether Bellchambers will be the sole ruck or will partner with Giles when teams drop tonight.

Personally, I can see Bellchambers rucking by himself this year. If Daniher, Carlisle and Ambrose are all fit, we've got three players who can play tall down there already so we don't need a resting ruck to provide the extra height. For those moments where Bellchambers is off the ground, Joey will be able to cover for him. Daniher has been on some sort of dreamer bulk since September '14 so he won't be getting thrown around as much.

Giles is statistically a better tap ruckman than Belly over the last few seasons, but Bellchambers is by far the better player. So if our forward line has no room for a second ruckman, Bellchambers will get the gig.

So is everyone confident Luey can average 90+ if he stays fit?

No.
Great, ive got no room to move with a new ruck.... id have to restructure everything.

If Giles is named I will be forgetting about Belly, if I lose a ruck I will replace a forward with Ryder or trade out my under performer.

I'll be doing the same

Every structure I come up with for myself allows me to have 13 prems and 1 mid pricer. That mid pricer has been Belly, but reckon I will take a shot with a defender instead and just drop Belly all together now

Seeing as I cant fit him in the fwd for DPP cover, he's just a mid price option now so I'll get better points with set and forget and similar mid price points down back which is the lowest scoring line so kind of makes sense to me now

As far as bench cover goes, for those not using a Read/Cox type to loophole, Sammy Naismith has been elevated!

Might be hard for me to find the extra 40k, but if Naismith gets named tonight I will find the money for sure :)
