LordSneeze

The time is upon us, the season is prepped and about to liftoff sending us out into the abyss on a journey filled with success, intrigue, heartbreak and hopefully Money, Money, Money. The last few months have been filled with hours upon hours of watching games, looking over stats, tweaking setups, but for many that all is forgotten during the lockout madness, trust you gut and research.

Onto the rules. This year there is a small changes to the rules of the FF Medal points. Allowing for the highest scoring players to gain more points than the lower scorers. Breakdown Below
FF Medal - Round by Round Points award. 1st 25 points, 2nd 15 Points, 3rd 10 Points, 4th 7 points, 5th 6 points, 6th 5 points, 7th 4 points, 8th 3 points, 9th 2 points, 10th 1 point

Know your competition
Division 1

Frogjumper â€" Defending league champion and 1x time All Australian after a barnstorming run home. With multiple years of strong overall finishes anything less than finals will be classed as a failue.

X â€" Recently renamed from TRIPLE X Marcus is hoping that the change will bring about good fortune for the coming year. Will need a strong improvement to compete in arguably a tougher field this year.

Tailspower â€" Smarting from a near miss of Major finals and falling in the semi of the minor last year Tailspower is ready to give it another crack. Preseason by all accounts has been strong and indications are there for improvement this year. 1x All Australian and looking to back up with another solid year.

Corkascrew â€" The overall point’s winner and highest ranked coach in the leagues last year, but unfortunately luck was not on his side missing the Premiership, Grand Final and FF medal. An All Australian nomination was a small consolidation, but revenge is firmly on the agenda.

Dos' Destroyers â€" The winner of the Minor GF will be looking at taking that next step into the major finals and putting pressure on the top of the table. The difficulty will be in holding the form throughout the whole year.

FC HAWKSTONE â€" Our Premier is back in the ranks to defend his title. Was one of the top 3 all year and pipped the others for the Premiers Plate, unlucky to not be able to get over his bogey team in Frogjumper in the final and take the double. Will be around the mark again this year.

Ardy FC â€" Newly entered Ardy FC comes in with a pedigree that hasn’t been seen in the league before. A super finishing rank of 52 last year proves that he is one of the players to beat. The only issue is that backing up such a great finishing rank is very difficult to do.

Stubbsy's Heroes â€" A mid table finish in all aspects was below expectations for a Stubbsy’s Heroes team that has aspirations of glory. Will it be a climb, hold or decline this year.

Spinach â€" The holder of the first ever FF Medal, runner up in both points and ladder and 1x all Australian. A straight sets exit in finals tarnished an otherwise great year. Going around again and likely to be near the top of the pile.

Mountalizians FC â€" Arguably the luckiest player last year finishing 5th on percentage with only the 13th best points for tally. Will be wanting to improve this year in a much stronger field.

Tiger of Old â€" Returning for another crack at the top flight after falling in the minor finals to Dos’ Destroyers. Will not need much of an improvement to fight for a finals birth.

bombers rule â€" Another one of the new entrants into the league following a strong 2015 finish. Lets hope the horrid name, what with the bombers situation and the disaster in Belgium a few days ago (Thoughts go out to the whole country and anyone affected). Can he write the wrongs and recover some of the reputation that has been tarnished by other parties.

Terrifying Glue â€" A poor year in head to head last year resulted in a finishing position of 14th, but it doesn’t tell the whole story with a 6th place overall point finish. Was highly consistent with scoring, but rarely had the big or low scoring weeks.  Finals is a possibility.

Cunning Coyotes â€" The lights are shining brightly, the moon is shining, the coyotes are howling. A late callup to the top flight, but can this wild card bounce back from a poor 2015 and perform well enough to back up the howls.

$Blues â€" The team that only narrowly avoided relegation last year after needing Cousins Coke n Ice to win his final round match to do it. Can he take advantage of the stroke of luck andmake a move up the table this year.

bics best â€" Mid table mediocrity and first round finals exit wasn’t the desire at the start of last year and neither should it be this year. Holding of performance similar to last year will likely nt be enough for finals. Improvement is required.

WingardiumLobbeosa â€" A strong preseason has got Wingardiumlobbeosa in top shape for a crack at the big boys again this year. The strong finish last year and eventual loss to Frogjumper in the semi showed the promise that all could see through the season.

SCHILLACI â€" Wildcard that comes in with good ranking history. 3 years inside the top 5k. The streak will need to continue to compete at the top of this league. Massive finals chance.

Division 2

Engineticians â€" One of our relegated teams from last year. Found the top division a little too strong and struggled to make an impact. Will be hoping that this division won’t be as ruthless. Mid table possibility

Richos has beens â€" Sorry im not sure who this one is ca someone please advise. Anyway, if he has even 1 tenth of the swagger that the real Richo and 9 tenths the aggression we know he will be mid table at best.

Ringos Rocky Road â€" The potential is there to run away with the league if he can return to the form of 2013 & 2014. In no way will this be easy, but should be pushing for a top 4 birth come finals time.

Jive Turkeys â€" Renamed from Jack Mehoff and coming into the league following a solid 1873 rank last year. Promotion is possible if the performance can be backup again

The Hulkamaniacs â€" Another strong team who will be pushing for a finals spot. Showed in 2013 his potential with a ranking of 456. Will need to show that type of form to be competitive in what is shaping up as a very competitive league.

pseudointellectual â€" Renamed from El Condor Pasa, a coach that enters with a large amount of experience and knowledge. Expect the unexpected and likely a finals birth.

Bull Dust â€" A very poor 2015 has Bull Dust in the lower echelons of the worldwide predictions, can he do a Leister and push for that elusive 5000:1 win.

Flying Fids â€" The division just keeps getting stronger and stronger. Another player with ranks averaging around the 1-5k mark. Will push for finals and promotion, but with the competition it is anyones to guess who makes it.

BlueBaggers â€" A green player last year and showed glimpses of potential. With a year of experience under the belt anything and everything is possible.

Fantasy Addicts â€" After failing to survive Div 1 last year Fantasy Addicts is looking to redeem himself and climb straight back up. The experience of last year should provide that added spark needed to compete.

McBasketball â€" A very poor 2015 which saw McBasketball playing like the Lakers when drunk. Can he bounce back to the heights of 2014 or will the slump continue.

Beef Tannen FC â€" A self named spud. Mmmmmm spuds, atleast they go well with Beef. Will the beef be too dry to make a push for finals or will it be infused with stock giving it flavour and that oh so good melt in your mouth feel.

MC's Mix â€" Arguably the team to beat with 3 finishes in the top 1k in a row whilst also showing strong improvement every year. Stiff to not get a wildcard into the top flight, but it just goes to show the level of competitions. As everyone knows though, supercoach can throw curveballs whether you can hit them is another matter.

PumpedUpCripps â€" A forum regular that has yet to breakout as a supercoach threat. The passion is there, will this be the year.

Bored Saints â€" Another solid player joining the league for the first time. Consistent rankings around the 3k mark will likely result in a team pushing for a finals birth.

Brainpharts â€" Like a lot of people last year Brainpharts struggled. Likely due to some brainfarts. His first year in the comp and is a dark horse to make a strong run at promotion.

Tigertuff â€" After a poor 2015 Tigertuff is looking to break back into the elite ranks. Potential is surely there however up and down the form is. Will this be a good or bad year for tigertuff.

Raging Marshmellows â€" Very little is known about this coach, with a late late late call to join the leagues. Could this be our smokey for the year?

And with that it is very clear that both leagues are filled with strong coaches and are wide open. Making that right move, or getting that lucky win could be the difference in promotion or relegation. And to leave you with some inspiration

One week down and 22 more to go, not that im counting or anything. The football is back and don’t we all just love it. Round 1 took up through the proverbial ringer of emotions â€" anxiety before the first match, relief the season started, joy at that out of the box pick, despair at the premium failing, anger when you miss a deadline and probably a few others. It’s what we love and you will be doing it all again this week.

With a week still to go until the H2H matches start this week’s update will be short and sweet. 36 coaches are getting ready to pit their teams against one another with the main question being. Do you trade and try to get the leg up, or back your team in to perform as is?

This week we saw a plethora of coaches closely grouped together. 3 coaches broke the 2300 mark while a further 9 eclipsed 2200. Unfortunately for Sacre Bleu and Dos’ Destroyers they failed to make the 2000 mark and are already in a position of having to play catchup.

Leading the pack are the Cunning Coyotes who sent shockwaves through Div 1 who boast 8 of the top 10 with a strong score of 2337. This is followed closely by the late entrant to the leagues Raging Marshmellows only 7 points behind at 2330. The reigning Div 1 winner Frogjumper started his title defence with a top 3 showing at a score of 2314.

And with that I hope you enjoy the new leaderboard designs for this year.
