So here we go, my first attempt at what is a rather unique midfield team, however strong all round I believe.

Cash in hand: $60,100

Reasons behind the midfield picks:

Griffen should dominate in a losing team at GWS.
Swallow I feel will increase his workload with the departure of Levi Greenwood and should be up around the 105-110 average with his usual massive games.
Sam Mitchell is much better than his average last season and his price is awesome. Should return to elite status.
Daniel Rich - Upgradable cheap player who with games, will definitely gain in price.

The rookies are obvious.

My Rucks, I feel that until we know what is happening with the Bombers that Giles may end up starting ruck and that should do him well. Nic Nat for a massive year!

So what are your thoughts?

Money Shot

I just think there are to many risky picks here for my liking.

Shaggy

It's all about the risks vs reward. Definitely not for everyones liking, that's for sure.

Shaggy

Updated in the main post, few changes made.

Fyfe > Pendlebury
Crisp > Mitchell
Giles > Leuenberger

Luke McDonald will be running through the midfield this year at times so I feel he has a lot of upside. Varcoe is a risk vs reward pick given his ability. If he is running off a wing down forward as well, I feel his upside outweighs the negatives and should still be a strong pick in a backline.

Bit harsh JR but there are a few picks I would be reconsidering. Varcoe and McDonald won't be top 10 defenders, and I can't see either making enough money to be worth it. McDonald would be more likely to decrease his average if anything with the inclusion of Higgins in the backline and the notorious second year blues. Midfield is interesting, but again I can't see either of Swallow, Griffen or Mitchell being in the top 10 for their postion. Maybe pick your favourite and trade the others out for more proven performers e.g. Selwood, Fyfe, GAJ, or even downgrade one to a NVB/Newton. Don't mind the Rich pick. Rucks look good. Forwards look alright, although I'm not sure about the Christensen pick - Would much rather pay the extra 50k for someone a bit more proven e.g. Buddy.
Bit early to be fussing over rookie picks but your team would look much better with Salem and Membrey in there over Pickett and Moore.

Gotta brush your teeth every morning. Gotta pay taxes. Gotta start Ablett.

My squad is down below, looking for serious comments and opinions on potential changes. There is a few risks in there. If you are going to bag myself or this team, I recommend using Alt+F4.

WHERE'S DE GOEY??!! ;D

Defence looks pretty good, I've cooled down on Geary though
Really think you need Pendles in the mids. Neale will be a gun, but don't think this is the year to pick him. Would try to make him Pendles if possible. Unless of course you have him with the plan of turning him into Gaz, in which case probably stick with that
If Belly doesn't play round 1 (and longer) due to suspensions, Giles could pay off. Very very risky though
First 3 forwards are awesome, not sure on Betts. What do you see him averaging? Don't think he'd be a keeper, and isn't cheap enough to make a lot of cash. Good rokies, maybe go Karnezis to Hogan though

I like it, i can see only 2 potential moves you could do, which is go Betts straight up to Swan, as Betts is sort of in no-mans land cash wise and can't see him having that big of a year really, Swanny is a bargain and is a proven SC scorer, otherwise you can downgrade Betts to maybe a Hogan type and then upgrade Giles and maybe Geary in the back line or play around with your mids a bit because they look a bit weak too me! good luck

Don't rate Watson as a top ten mid and I don't ssee Leuy doing well this year with Martin still there. No Heeney or Ablett? I would try to get both of them in. Think Macrae will do well but haven't selected him because I don't see him being a top 10 mid come seasons end. No ruck cover, very ballsy considering you're starting Leuy. Apart from that a solid team

Good Luck
