Just if you plan on using Cox as your floating donut just need to reconsider given the number of early games the pies play.  Look at Read or O'Brien if looking for other possibilities,

Would start Saad on field over Brown as well.

overall pretty sound team.

heatedwire

Can somebody explain to a beginner what the point of having the likes of Cox in the ruck, when there is no DPP in the forward line?  And the theory behind a floating doughnut?

Ringo

With SC having rolling lock outs to take advantage you need a non scoring player on your bench and ideally one who plays a late game and can come onto the field if another player in the line has not played.

Eg say your Rucks are maric and Goldy.  You say place a VC on Pendles and he scores 135 you then have the option of moving R3 onto field if Maric or Goldy have not played and make him Captain to take Pendles VC score.

With ruck rookies not likely playing I am using R3 for this purpose,  Gives you the opportunity to strategise each round with vc choices.  If  they VC scores low then you still have your regular captain.

Hope that explains purpose of floating donut and why I am using a late playing rookie ruck as my R3.

haha yeah thanks mate, seems obvious in hindsight.

when there is no DPP in the forward line?

While people may not have RUC cover yet, there is the chance to bring in the likes of Bellchambers after ASADA suspensions. Would almost be able to side trade a FWD rookie to him come Rd5/6 and rucks should hopefully not have had a rest/niggle by then.

Cox enables us to use a captain loophole or a loophole for forward rookies (if u have a ruck DPP in ruck). It also enables us to open a swing set if we choose to trade in Belly or Ryder later in the season

Just about identical to my team mate. I have
Gibson to your Newnes
Griffen to your Ward
Newton to your Anderson
Buddy to your Gray
The rest is the same so must be a bloody good team ;)

My only concern would be Anderson as its up in the air weather he is best 22 and the risk of the sub vest when Hawthorn play on the Monday round 1. If he's named I would keep him but you may have to put him in your bench for the first round

Money Shot

Cheers mate!
I know Anderson is a risk but he has the ability to be a gun scorer so for now he stays!

PICCOLLO

Solid team mate.

I think any crticism of your team comes down to preference.
5 premo mid is good but at the risk of gazza being Gazza.
Brown in def and hogan up fwd on the ground might see your mid dominance negated. (Ward 115 + hogan 55 = 170, CEY 80 + Bartel 100 = 180)
Touk miller questionable.

The rest is strong and uv got premos that are sure to be in top 6-8 in their groups.

Nice team MS - I like it. Have you stayed firm or is GAJ needling for an inclusion?!

mick_k25

It was a tough round so that's not too bad of a start really. I see you went for T.Read over M.Cox who was in your previously posted team.
