Money Shot

TEAM NAME: Anthonys Goats
DEF: H. Shaw, M. Hibberd, G. Birchall, J. Newnes, B. Waters, H. Goddard (D. Viojo-Rainbow, N. Newman)
MID: G. Ablett jnr, S. Pendlebury, N. Fyfe, J. Selwood, C. Ward, N. van Berlo, B. Boekhorst, N. Freeman (A. Neal-Bullen, J. Steele, K. Lambert)
RUC: T. Goldstein, N. Naitanui (T. Nankervis)
FWD: L. Franklin, D. Martin, D. Swan, M. Clark, J. Hogan, J. Laverde (C. Daniel, N. Krakouer)
CASH LEFT: $800

Defence: in my opinion Shaw, Hibberd and Birchall could all be top 5 mids and go close to averaging 100. Newnes is the Swallow of last year and with more midfield time I see him going around the 90 mark and being a keeper. Waters is a gun and in my opinion will be the Suckling of last year and go around 75-80 and be that D6/D7 (yes I plan on keeping him). Goddard is the only defender I see playing at this stage and although he wont score much at this stage I am happy with him playing. Other rookies are just educated guesses.

Midfield: The first 5 mids I have selected could easily be top 5 mids come seasons ends and should almost defiantly be top 10. NVB with a new role is to cheap to ignore although him and Biggs are in a tight race for that 6th spot. As a Carlton supporter I love Boekhurst and I expect him to play early. Freeman is a gun. Again bench rookies are just place holders.

Rucks: Goldy and Nic Nat will be top 5 rucks this year and go 100+ enough said. Nankervis should get games which is good enough ruck cover for me.

Forwards: This line has had to suffer a little bit but really I think it is still reasonably strong. Franklin, Martin and Swan could easily be in the top 5 and Clark and Hogan (If fit) are absolute locks. Im not to sure on Laverde but he was expected to be a top 10 pick so think he could slot straight into the Essedon side (Not to sure). Daniel is tearing the house down and I think he will play 20 or so games and with Krakouer although he hasn't been promoted of the rookie list I think that they drafted him to play.

Extra Notes:
Think this is the side I will sit on until nab as I always seem to come back to it.
I see 15 keepers which is a great effort (Waters I see as a D6/D7)
Havent really looked at byes as I don't like selecting players because of there byes to much but it is 7/12/11 which is okay.

Thanks to everyone who continues to rate my team and I will return the favour.

ROSY

Really like your side mate. I love that you are backing Birch for a good year. I like Ward as M5 although I think  it will be interesting what he can produce with Griffin stealing some tag attention, but also stealing some hard ball off him? Will watch carefully.. I went the same with ruck structure, set and forget as not to worry about the DPP issue with injury prone picks. Not keen on Goddard as a starter? I would prefer to see how Buddy goes for a start and get him in later as I believe Goddard will be more consistent and a safer bet to start with. I will definitely keep my eye on Selwood as for some stupid reason Im not keen to start him? Not sure why yet.. If you could free up cash and upgrade Fwd Rook to Whitecross your backline would look estronger and safer... Cant wait to see hoe Clark fits in and if he sees much of the ball.
Overall I think this is a great side..

Money Shot

Cheers mate I love Birchall as a pod although he isn't much on this site.
Yeah Griffen will steal some points but with GWS being stronger I see more points across the whole team.
With Goddard I don't mind him but just like my other 3 more and see them all going up in price where as he will stay the same.
Selwood is my first midfield dropped but still think he is 115-120 this year.
Cheers mate!

Bully

Great team, probably need to scrub ANB from the mids given he's had some issues during the preseason. Other than that it's a first class squad, really strong across all lines. Nic Newman if he gets up would be a godsend in defense, I like your thinking though with the mature age philosophy (let's just erase Fuller from the memory banks however). I really like the M/F link you have created with your rookies, this could be very handy at certain stages and Goldy is already a major POD with only 9% uptake. Well done.

Cheers man, ANB obviously a place holder for now and although he has had set backs from what I have heard he should be fit for round one. Whether or not they select him will be a different thing.

Ahhhh money shot I remember back to those teams you made a month ago Leuy, Kreuzer locks you said! Now you've finally come to the party on Nic nat/Goldy!! Unbelievably smart move!

That one more forward is what you need to cement this team as a man sitter!
Saying that those rookies could play Rd 1! Stick to that. Bare minimum of cash  love it

I would personally have at least one of Lids/BJ in your team as I see them as the two safest forward options (should average over 100) but the midfield is insane. You just need to be careful as you get closer to the season that you don't get caught out trying to swing playing rookies into your side with the little cash you have and the amount of bargain basement guys.

This is a great team to sit on. The only suggestion I would make now is rather than think of what players you could change to make it better, what player could you slightly downgrade if you need an extra $100k to get some playing rooks if we're a little desperate round 1? Might need a Biggs/WhiteX type.

Fyfe to Barlow/JPK? Selwood to Swallow? Goldy to Kreuz? Just to suggest a few.

Just something to consider.

Hahahah how the times have changed. The only line that has not moved is my midfield :P
I was seeing Kreuzer and Leuy as potential locks and really I don't think they are even top 5 so I will pass of them. In saying that if I do need 200k Goldy to Kreuzer is my first move but for now I'm happy with the rucks I have 8)

Yeah I think there is so much value in the forward line this year and it's pretty much a "B Grade" Midfield with all the picks you can get so going cheap in there and getting gun mids is a no brainer for me.

Cheers FT for all the work you do on this site!

The 3 forwards I have I think are the safest bets for me. franklin has an easy run for the teams he plays well against and will get off to an amazing start. Martin will be the number 1 forward come seasons end. Swan is way to underpriced to ignore 8)
Yeah I have got some ideas for cash although I'm happy spending it all at the moment.

Yeah I have already thought about it:
Birchall>Lumumba 50k
Birchall>Yeo 100k
Goldy>Kreuzer 200k
Ward>Biggs 400k

They are all the options I am looking at but for now I'm happy with my team as is.
Goldy>Kreuzer is the most likely option if I need money.

You're all set then! One of my fav teams around here

johnnyy23

Hey guys, have a team without Dane Swan that I am happy with - and I personally think a little stronger. Just in case I end up selecting him though this is what my team will look like until NAB. Thoughts?

DEF: M. Hibberd, G. Birchall, S. Hurn, J. Newnes, B. Waters, J. Lever (D. McKenzie, D. Viojo-Rainbow)
MID: G. Ablett jnr, J. Selwood, C. Ward, J. Watson, D. Swan, N. van Berlo, B. Boekhorst, A. Vandenberg (N. Freeman, N. Krakouer, K. Lambert)
RUC: S. Mumford, T. Bellchambers (I. Soldo)
FWD: B. Goddard, L. Franklin, D. Martin, H. Bennell, J. Laverde, H. Goddard (C. Daniel, B. Abbott)
CASH LEFT: $5,200

9/14/7 byes... not too flash, in fact pretty painful.

Money Shot

Well It isn't looking all that great in the backline now for me ....
Birchall and Waters both going down with injuries and Goddard doesn't look like getting games.

Money Shot

Its going to be hard to keep my structure but I will see what I can do.
