Strong team.  There's the obvious forward issues previously mentioned but the fwd line is the place to start thin I'd say. I think Kreuzer is likely to be played as a fwd isn't he? Would you pick him if that's where you knew he'd primarily play?

With the multiplyer on clutch SC points being decreased I'm wondering about Fyfe this year. Absolute gun but misses a few games and maybe a decreased output because of change in rules?

Changing to Birchall a good move I think.

I also love how you went bang and picked the 3 best midfielders in the comp. Good for VC loop flexibility and monster scores. You know what you are getting with Rocky, Pendles and Gaz.
Obviously my team changes when the rookies are named.
With Kreuzer I think Mick is kidding himself if he doesn't play him primarily as a ruck.
I see all 5 of my mids being 120+ regardless of rule changes.
Thanks mate for the thoughts I'll take them on board.

Shaggy

Yeah massive midfield, definitely different to my approach. Forward line does need some work and the rookies are iffy in places as well but hey, still early!

Nice team though.

Cheers mate! Thought I would go with a bit of a different structure.
What rookies do you think are iffy at this stage? I see them all having a good chance of playing early!

Shaggy

Wigg, Boekhorst, Lambert and Viojo I'm not sold on getting up, Krak could be a while before he gets a game and I'm not really big on Daniel however I am similar on Steele but having him for his MPP in my midfield so I hope I am wrong. Haha

Fair enough!
But they are almost all bench rookies and obviously place holders!

TEAM NAME: Anthonys Goats
DEF: H. Shaw, M. Hibberd, G. Birchall, J. Newnes, B. Waters, H. Goddard (D. Viojo-Rainbow, N. Newman)
MID: G. Ablett jnr, S. Pendlebury, N. Fyfe, J. Selwood, C. Ward, N. van Berlo, B. Boekhorst, N. Freeman (A. Neal-Bullen, J. Steele, K. Lambert)
RUC: T. Goldstein, N. Naitanui (T. Nankervis)
FWD: L. Franklin, D. Martin, D. Swan, M. Clark, J. Hogan, J. Laverde (C. Daniel, N. Krakouer)
CASH LEFT: $800

Think I am finally happy with all my premium picks.
I have went Goldy/Ward instead of Kreuzer/Rocky and about 75k.

I see 14 obvious keepers and Waters.

Only concern now is my cash left over and my cheap rookies.

AaronKirk

I like the team apart from the forwards and to a point the defence.

Laverde unlikely to get games early for us and Krakouer needs to be promoted to the senior list, as does Lambert on your forward bench. Neal-Bullen dislocated his knee in training and unlikely to play round one.

Newman also needs to be promoted (probably will given Johnson is now on the LTI at the swans) but also Goddard and Viojo-Rainbow are unlikely to play early.

The rookies generally will determine how the rest of your team will form.

IMO you are a premo too strong in the mids and one short in the forwards and may only have 5 players who will play round 1 in defence.

Cheers for the advice.
Obviously the rookies will change depending on who gets named but I believe most of the guys should get up or be close!

Totallty agree with u there AK. I think one ultra premo to a super premo tu upgrade tour rookies would be ideal. E.g. Rocky > Sloane, Ward. for cash. Gives you 100k

jabroni

nice team MS but yeah fwd line is light and if u keep this structure then keep enough $$ to fit salem into the fwd line if hes likely to start games

Thank you guys,
Rookies are place holders for now!
But I do see where you are coming from with them being very cheap.
Ward>Griffen is something I would do for around 70k if needed.
Thanks guys.

A good move mate. Ward slightly underpriced because of an injury last year and ultra consistent no matter what the scoreline.  With no Jarrad Waite at Carlton I think Kruz will be groomed to play CHF, FWD for fair chunks of games.
Shame you couldn't squeeze in the rocklobster though. Perfect man for VC loophole.

Yeah I wish I had him but if there was a guy to drop a heap in price he was it so that's why he had to go.

Do you guys think that this team actually has a chance of being my team for round 1.
I mean do you think that I have left enough in my rookies or do you think come round 1 there wont be that many rookies to select and I will have to downgrade somewhere?
I know its early but I absouloutely love this team and would happily sit on it until the NAB.

Vinny

Don't think Newman, ANB, Steele, Krak or Rainbow will be named RD1 man. Never know what NAB cup will bring but just as it is, that's what I reckon.
