Shaw or Hibberd?

Shaw, particularly with the ??? surrounding Essendon.
Yep Shaw mate. Unless you can grab both?
Yeah I was going to man but needed cash elsewhere, still very unsettled with the combination of back premiums I'm going. Will be like this all the way till Rd 1 of course haha.

I just cant bring myself to pick Shaw. I know what he can do, but he just keeps stuffing up some way or another every year

Because all the defenders are so close in terms of what they can score anyway, I think we are best off picking defenders based on total points scored for the year and not average

Nothing wrong with taking a risky pick, and Shaw fits that bill, but just cant personally do it  :-\

Yeh but don't forget that rookies will score as replacements though mate. I'll be picking Shaw because he has potential to score as a top 3 back this year

I factor in a replacement score of 60 for backs and forwards, and 70 for mids. When doing this and assuming that all positions last year were the same as this year (McVeigh mid only etc), then K.Simpson is the only player to finish in the top 6 both years. H.Shaw misses the top 6 both years.

Shaw
18 @ 92.6, + 4 @ 60 = real average of 86.7

Malceski
22 @ 105.4

MASSIVE difference. Worth paying for.

One more thing. In Rocket's first year as coach of WB his half back flank (Gilbee) played 22 games and averaged 114. Question marks over how Mal will go at GC under Rocket shouldn't be too much of a worry.

Well we were talking about Hibberd and Shaw. So not that big of a difference and Shaw has potential to average 100

Are we comparing Malceski to Gillbee under rocket or comparing the Suns to the dogs 10 years ago.

Both.

Same type of players, similar teams, right?

...right?

Head to head, Rich, but I doubt this is via DPP (because who would put a D/M into the mids?) so I'd wonder who's replacing who. Ibbo could well be the better pick relative to the quality of their respective lines.

Thanks H. I was thinking along the lines of if I had to pick a mid pricer. Both have upside and sadly downside with injury history.
Both can fit into team structure. DPP is not an issue. Minimising exposure to rookies, with a cash  and score generator is the goal I suppose. Like everyone else  ;)
