Haha is there a Carlton supporter out there that actually likes Mick?

Yeah I think it's stupid, he's a natural Ruckman that CAN rest forward, not a forward that can pinch hit in the ruck.

He is senile

The bold bit is 100% correct. They have tried to play him forward, it hasn't worked except for 1 game in his first season. Kreuz and his helicopters are meant for the ruck not the forward line. Square peg, round hole

Neither :P Griffen probably because he's cheaper, and I don't really think that you can justify picking Swallow as a midfielder. If he was still a defender maybe, but wouldn't touch him as a mid.

I am pretty sure he is talking about Andrew and not David

Yeah I meant A. Swallow v Griffen. The two under priced options capable of 110+

Birchall v Jaensch

Anyone think that Matty J can go 90+? Had an injury affected game or 2 (28 from a first qtr concussion iirc)

I'm a bit wary of all the Adelaide boys. BSmith could get more attention. A fit Hendo could get a more attacking role and affect Jaensch. Plus NVB could go to half back and re-shuffle that backline.  And finally a new coach could change quite a few things up.

I'd go Birchall for safety.  You know what you'll get from him

Birchall easily for me. He has a good SC scoring history whereas Jaensch is coming off just the one good year. Jaensch could back up last year but I'd prefer to put my trust in Birchall.

Jaensch. Someone asked him what he likes least about football and he said "that I can't be the one on the end of my own perfect kicks". He's got a point!

I'll break the deadlock :P

I'd go Jaensch out of those two.

Jaensch had two injury affected games, which bumps his average up to 94 if you take those two out (although admittedly against Fremantle the injury was in the last quarter I believe).

I really can't see Birchall improving much on his average of the last few years, but Jaensch should continue to grow and develop in his role, and I could see him pushing 95 for sure.

I say Birchall. You know what you'll get. A 90-95 average. Although Jaensch should continue his form p, I think with the inclusion of Hendo again, he may not have as much of the pill coming out of the backline, along with Brodie Smith.

I think the reason people are getting back on Birch this year is because they believe Frawley coming in should free him up more to rack up more touches across half back

I reckon Birch should average 90ish and isn't a bad pick at all, but at this stage I'd rather Hibberd for 10k more or Hurn for 10k less

Either way, he is a good pick, all comes down to personal preference

Have Hibberd. Could well end up going Hurn. Currently the most unsure position in my team (rookies aside), time should sort this one out.

Why not have all 3 of them?
