:)

Can afford either but not both in starting team so which first out of   Fyfe  and  Barlow  ??   Leaning towards Barlow but honestly don't know why .

Fyfe for more points, Barlow for better value. Depends on your other starting mids, I'm assuming this is for an M3/4 spot, if it's M3 I'd be leaning more towards Fyfe, if it's M4 more towards Barlow...

[edit] Add one of my own:
Griffen vs Watson - purely on the players I would go Watson hands down, lots of question marks over Griff at GWS, but I'm also wondering if ASADA could ruin things with Watson... Just get him and deal with it if/when it happens?
:)
Actually it's M.5 if I go very strong in mids, ruck and forwards. God help the defence.    ;)

'm with you guys at the moment too, currently have Lids, Goddard, Dusty and Swan in. Just hope I don't get burnt by not starting the Bud

I'd be inclined to leave one of the tigers out mate, personally Dusty...

Buddy first 3 rounds: Essendon, Port, GWS

last 4 games against each of those teams (most recent first):
Dons 126, 119, 120, 159 av 131
Port 72, 146, 113, 114 av 111.25
GWS 137, 54 (first game with swans), 107, 109 av 101.75
They're the stinkers RD is talking about though.

On DMartin...

DUSTIN Martin will be challenged to take his midfield game to a new level in 2015 and become like Jobe Watson, Richmond coach Damien Hardwick says.

After an impressive third finish in the best and fairest, Martin is entering his sixth AFL season having added attacking weapons to his repertoire.

In the Tigers' run to the finals the 23-year-old became a match winner more than once when pushed forward to win crucial contests.

While Hardwick wants Martin to remain an explosive option inside 50 this season, he says it's time he became a midfield force much like the Essendon skipper on a more permanent basis.

"We think his running capacity has really improved over the course of his pre-seasons he's had with us, and we feel for him to take that next step as a player it's going to be the majority of him playing midfield," Hardwick told AFL.com.au.

"He needs to become a contested ball king, a tackle king in that area, much like a Jobe Watson type of player that's capable of setting up the game from the middle of the ground.

"We look forward to giving him that opportunity."

Martin will slink back to the forward pocket when he remembers that he can't run for more than half a game.

The 54 against GWS was literally the first game he played with the Swans, and they had a terrible start to the season by their standards, so I'm inclined to ignore it. Even if you don't, that's two games under 100 out of 12... Dusty on the other hand?

That tells me nothing more than Hardwick is talking up the amount of midfield time he could get. But it does also say they want him to "remain an explosive option inside 50 this season" - so he's going to be sitting up front still. Don't get me wrong, Dusty is good and I'm betting will come into my team. But when you're trying to decide starters vs upgrade targets, look at their expected early performances. Better chance of Dusty scoring low and thus his price dropping/not increasing than Buddy.

Fortunately though, he has normally accumulated enough points by half time to sit the rest of the game out!

I currently have him at F3, expecting him to become a four quarter player, just like I have in years past!

- Key forwards are more likely to throw up a stinker
- Two of Buddy's big scores against GWS were when Davis didn't play. And the other was 3 years ago when GWS were very very green. Davis kept him to 54.
- The scores against Port. 113 and 114 where when Port were disgusting a few years ago. The 146 was when he kicked 3 goals in the last quarter to get Sydney over the line and got scaled up. The next game was his 72
- Agree he loves the dons though
- Even if DMartin is still used as an explosive fwd option, a little bit more mid time generally leads to increase scoring. And a lot safer than a key fwd

All fair points Rico, though scores are still scores regardless of whatever reasons caused them. We'd best not derail this thread into an extended debate, our opinions are there for whoever wants to read... RD what have you done?!?

A slightly more crazy option, Bellchambers vs JMart (yeah yeah, I know, neither)

both a touch over 300k, Belly advantage of DPP ruck cover, but in looking at JMart's run at the end of the year he actually put up some decent numbers. In part inspired by AFL sites JMart vs JKelly face off, JMart seems like a good pick for DT, what about SC?

Lids and Goddard I think are locked. Will flip a coin between Dusty and Buddy closer to the season start :)

Not likely he'll throw in a stinker in the first three at least...

Tigers have Carlton, Dogs and Lions
last 4 Lids:
Carlton 92, 116, 100, 92 av 100
Dogs 91, 140, 116, 101 av 112
Lions 89, 118, 144, 114 av 116.25

last 4 Dustbin:
Carlton 108, 85, 89, 76 av 89.5
Dogs 84, 95, 150, 125 av 113.5
Lions 102, 80, 110, 76 av 92

Haven't done Goddard, that was enough haha. I really think Dusty is an upgrade target, not a starter. Big scorer but also big SD, you can pick him up cheaper I reckon, and history suggests his start may be weak where Lids and Buddy will be strong.

Goddard first 3 rounds are Sydney, Hawthorn and Carlton

Last 4 Goddard
Sydney 127, 79, 79, 97 av 95.5
Hawks 100, 92, 120, 78 av 97.5
Blues 102, 76, 97, 156 av 107.75
