Yeo will get plenty of mid time

Anticipated returns from Sharrod Wellingham and Elliot Yeo adds pace and depth to a midfield division that Simpson expects to be more stable than last season.

“We lost Yeo when we just had moved him into the midfield last year and we lost him with his broken wrist"

Putting him with Wellingham makes me nervous mate, he doesn't exactly set the world on fire and I don't see him as a best 22 player.
Was he taking Scooter's role though? Let's not forget he was gone for most of the year.. A fit and firing brigade of mids is certainly quick enough with Shuey/Gaff/Ellis and that's without Yeo.

Like eaglesman said they absolutely love Yeo

Lets not forget he's only 21 years old, and is a lock for best 22

I honestly think he can average 85ish, possibly 90 for the season. Is a clean user of the ball and will increase his input

Interesting on Yeo.. Will he fit in with a fit Masten and Selwood, plus your normal mids such as Priddis and Shuey, while Rosa, Gaff, Hutchings, Ellis and others move through there? Hurn, Lecras and Darling also? If so, I'll be definitely on him! Bit skeptical though..

My exact thoughts

A fit masten? This bloke will be pushed out for Yeo in about 2 seconds he shouldn't be in our best 22. Gaff Is a seagull winger rarely gets a hard ball in his life. Rosa is no walk up for us but is the opposing winger,  I love hutch but he lacks polish. Ellis lacks size. Priddis clearance beast, shuey some pace and can find it, Selwood good hard worker ... Yeo will be the size and some speed we need. I had hoped Wellingham could provide this also but this will have to be proven to me

Yeo > daylight > Wellingham I assure you!

Yes a fit Masten? The bloke was a top 4 draft pick, he's not at all terrible, I still think there's hope for him to really turn his career around (he's shown good glimpses but needs consistency) but I do agree with your other statements! If Gaff could learn his inside game (he's super talented) he could become a jet and should most likely be in your core midfield group not on the outside (I'd hate to see him wasted like Stanton) but as it is I guess I can see where Yeo fits in.

So really it'll be
- Naitanui, Selwood, Priddis, Shuey at most centre clearances and Yeo starts off and is involved or what? Where is he if he isn't on ball mate?

We will agree to disagree with masten, I am hoping that some of these rookies can come in and push masten out completely ... I would much rather hutch Wellingham ... But who knows I hope and pray he can show me different

I understand what you are saying there with the midfield but no team in the afl has one wave of midfielders that contests 70-80% of the centre clearances .... Sydney had McVeigh Kennedy Parker hanners etc . Pies swan pendles beams Sidebottom ball
... I could go on ....
With rotations so fast these days teams need 8 midfielders ... Players like Yeo ellis hutch Wellingham masten(ew) darling at times even hurn when we need some grunt will all get a period through there similar to most teams ... And when he doesn't line up there watch him dash off half back and cause damage

I think he is good for 85 and that makes him a winning pick if he succeeds in achieving that ...

Masten is the torch bearer of the pre season olympics, year after year.

 :)

Can afford either but not both in starting team so which first out of   Fyfe  and  Barlow  ??   Leaning towards Barlow but honestly don't know why .

Fyfe for more points, Barlow for better value. Depends on your other starting mids, I'm assuming this is for an M3/4 spot, if it's M3 I'd be leaning more towards Fyfe, if it's M4 more towards Barlow...

[edit] Add one of my own:
Griffen vs Watson - purely on the players I would go Watson hands down, lots of question marks over Griff at GWS, but I'm also wondering if ASADA could ruin things with Watson... Just get him and deal with it if/when it happens?

Grab Watson mate and deal with any ASADA shower if/when it happens

Apologies if this one has already been asked but if I start 3 of these guys, which one do I leave out?

Deledio, Goddard, Buddy, Martin

Buddy.

I think he will put in a shocker or two at some stage and be available a lot cheaper than his starting price. Will also most likely miss games though injury/suspension.

Agree with ben mate

'm with you guys at the moment too, currently have Lids, Goddard, Dusty and Swan in. Just hope I don't get burnt by not starting the Bud

I'd be inclined to leave one of the tigers out mate, personally Dusty...

Buddy first 3 rounds: Essendon, Port, GWS

last 4 games against each of those teams (most recent first):
Dons 126, 119, 120, 159 av 131
Port 72, 146, 113, 114 av 111.25
GWS 137, 54 (first game with swans), 107, 109 av 101.75

Not likely he'll throw in a stinker in the first three at least...

Tigers have Carlton, Dogs and Lions
last 4 Lids:
Carlton 92, 116, 100, 92 av 100
Dogs 91, 140, 116, 101 av 112
Lions 89, 118, 144, 114 av 116.25

last 4 Dustbin:
Carlton 108, 85, 89, 76 av 89.5
Dogs 84, 95, 150, 125 av 113.5
Lions 102, 80, 110, 76 av 92

Haven't done Goddard, that was enough haha. I really think Dusty is an upgrade target, not a starter. Big scorer but also big SD, you can pick him up cheaper I reckon, and history suggests his start may be weak where Lids and Buddy will be strong.
