The Pig himself, will you be starting for you in 2015? Is he an upgrade target? Or will you not pick him at all?

Why will you be picking him? Can he keep up his average this season? Will he lose too much money to be worth starting with? Will the Lions new additions hurt his scoring?

I, being the bias Lions supporter I am, will be locking him in. I see far more upside in him than downside. If he spuds up over the first couple of rounds, you can downgrade him to anyone else.

What are your thoughts on Tom Rockliff?

Starting? Highly unlikely.
Upgrade target? Obviously
Can he keep his average? Yes, he CAN.
Will he lose too much money? Perhaps. It mostly depends on when his price drops. If his price doesnt drop til round 20, then you wouldve made the right call starting with him. If he has a stinker in the first few rounds, its probably a win for everyone else.
The new additions? Robinson and Christensen will have no impact on him at all. I don't see Beams having a negative impact on Rocky, although i guess potentially Rocky could spend more time up forward (doubt it).

The thing is though, what if he averages 125+, then how would you get the money to get him? He could still be 700k, and you would need a couple of very good rookies to get him, or you'd look to trade a premium to him.

Also can't see him going forward. With Zorks, Green, Taylor and Christensen down there I can't see Rocky going there as well. Maybe he'll just rest forward, but I can't see it hurting his scoring.

It's easy enough (in theory) to make a plan to get Rocky in. Pick a premium/semi-premium who should go ballistics in the early rounds and increase 100k, couple that with the 100k you left spare in your salary cap and you might be able to afford Rocky for that premium/semi-premium.

Unless he is injured auto pick all this talk of Beams and other players hurting his score does not cut it with me , I don't care who is on the field with him he will do exactly the same that is pig out on the footy  ;)

I am picking him...It's either him or GAJ as perma captain, and I plan to pick Rocky and then select other slightly sub uber premos who will play every week....Ward/Priddis/Cotchin for example.....I can't go any worse than last year so it's worth a crack  ::)

Choke

I really want to start him, but his price is just massive.

Combined with very few good sub $200k rookie options, I am really struggling to fit a team under the cap this year.

strikes91

he fits in quite well in my team. Happy with the rest of the squad

Just posting the comment I made in SC thread for you.

Last season out of necessity Rocky got a lot of his possessions in the back 50.  Anyone who went to our warched Brisbane games should have picked up on this. With the return of Rich and Staker also training with the defensive group can see Rockies possesions dropping off a little. Hanley and Rich will probably interchange. Where does that leave Rocky especialy with the inclusion of Beams and Christensen.

Will need to watch how Rocky is used in the NAB cup to see how much time he gets in mids.

As I said just expressing my views which for Brisbanes sake I hope is wrong but brain tells me to expect a drop.

Rocky to lobbed up forward where he can be damaging
oh wait... Voss left ;)

edit: given the captaincy, a small write up for Rocky rd1 is a 120 prediction (am holding off putting that thread up for a while)
obviously a LOT can happen between now and rd1

SydneyRox

Cant justify the price at this point. ZERO chance of being in my team come round 1

jvalles69

He will SURELY drop in price, I'll happily eat my words if he doesn't, starting with Ablett over Rocky, but Rocky will be in as soon as he hits his low, which might not be that low, but will be worth the cash drop in the long run.

With the addition of Beams it will help ease the load of Rockliff, His price should drop but kicks of the season against Collingwood, North, Richmond, West Coast, Gold Coast and Carlton in which he played those teams for a combined total of 7 games last year and averaged 148.
