2 cheap defenders, Brett Goodes and Clancee Pearce.

Dogs and Freo supporters, Where are these guys at? Are either in the best 22 at their clubs?

Brett Goodes is only $245,200 and has shown he can average 90+
I assume he was injured last year as he only played 2 games? Is there a spot in the side for him?

Clancee Pearce another interesting one at $278,900 was touted as an up and coming midfielder not all that long ago and averaged 90+ in 2012. Seems to get the vest a fair bit recently and has had some injury problems as well. Can any Freo people see him shaking the vest this year and posting some good numbers?

Cheers!

Clancee is going pretty well atm and a lot fitter. I love having him in our team because of his lethal kick but his role will be too up and down to be a premo scorer. He'll have weeks where he'll have free range but others when he'll get lock down roles. He's a ball magnet but youngsters like Neale are now ahead of him in the midfield rotations. I'd stay away at this stage

Yeah I thought this may be the case. It's a shame because in 2012 he actually pushed the 100 mark un subbed so would have been a nice cheap option in defence

and he certainly has the ability to put up premo numbers, he was a magnet as a junior. Has just been pushed out a little now

Is he best 22 still? I know he's had a lot of injury problems but do you think he plays if fit?

Goodes has an exactly 1.7% chance of playing more than 3 senior games this season. He wasn't injured, it just made no sense to play him instead of JJ/Darley and now Hunter and Biggs.

He was delisted and re drafted as a rookie, wasn't he meow? Don't really see him getting elevated if he's on the rookie list.

Yeah fair enough, I wasn't sure where he had disappeared to. Had a great 2013 then was set back by injury and haven't heard a word about him since

Just. Currently not best 18 but I would slot him in the 22.

Hopefully not with a green vest on! Will keep an eye on him in the nab challenge.

I disagree MM

someone will need to go onto the LTI list first but, he is a mature body and played pure midfield in the VFL last year.

We have just lost Griff, Coons (and missy) - two(three) hardened afl bodies and will need to replace them with young guys
if the likes of Boyd, Wallis, Stevens go down Goodsey is a good chance of coming in to play midfield

my sources tell me he has slimmed down and has been one of the better performers at training, and he is training with the mids not the defenders

instead of Goodes though - IMO, L Jong is a big chance to get game time was upgraded off the rookie list this year- might just go bang!!

What if I told you that Zac Dawson was tearing the house down and was training with the midfield group?
