I posted this in GM's thread, but figured it couldn't hurt to make a thread of my own.  First team of the year, so it's obviously not set in stone, but pull it apart all you want anyway, as I appreciate any and all feedback!

Mr.Craig

H.Goddard isn't worth the money you're spending on him and I'd prefer one of Hogan or B.Kennedy to Laverde. What about Lennon? I can really see him coming on this year.

Aside from that I can't really fault the team. I've got a league for you to join, will send a PM in a sec. ;)

Malceski is only 10k cheaper then Swan. I think it's probably too much money to pay for malceski, though he is still a solid DT player. Gotta fill those back spots with someone!
I dont see Jones getting regular games, so you might need to restructure a bit and try and get a midpricer like Henderson or Whitecross or someone in there (Hendo>Whitecross), or wait and see if another rookie pops up who will get regular games.
Nothing too exciting in the mids. I like P. Cripps myself. De Goey vs Brayshaw might be interesting.
Karnezis probably doesnt deserve a spot. Hogan or Markworth maybe? Or try and get up to bellchambers for extra ruck flexibility?

Cheers for the feedback, guys.  I've had a play around and come up with this team.  I think it looks a lot more even across the park, but what do you guys think?

Only issue I have is with NVB at m5. I currently have a premium there but only have 3 premiums in the forward line so I think that's fine

Yeah, I pretty much wanted to start with the four big forwards, which meant at least one other area would have to suffer.  It's looking like it will be the mids at this stage, but I'm happy enough with the structure of the rest of the team to cop the penalty, so to speak, in the mids.

Hard to pick apart which is always a good sign, only real issue I have is the 3 key position rookie price forwards in Hogan, Membrey and Clark although Clarke should be in everyones squad I'd pick one out of the other 2. Other than that I've noticed you've got a spare 71k use that if you aren't happy with the defence rookies.

pretty standard good team.
Whitecross and Jones have very questionable JS but they're probably just placeholders at this stage anyway.
I'm not a fan of Smith personally, it might be worth risking a midpricer potential breakout player or even Harry O instead

I was actually looking at "upgrading" Membrey to Lennon earlier on.  Doing so leaves me exactly $25k left, which is good as I like to have between $20k-$100k in the bank if I can just in case.

Of course, at this stage, all rookies are expendable as we literally have no idea where they're going to play and, more impotantly, if they're going to play.  I like the main structure of my team at this stage, but if I have to re-arrange some rooks once we start to get a look at them then so be it.

Your ruck strategy is very risky since you have nobody on the bench to back them up. If Luey or Kruez go down early your gonna be screwed to find a replacement. Jono Griff is a sneaky chance to slowly take the ruck duties off Sandi this season in my eye and is dirt cheap at around $140K, he should at least be in your ruck 3 and if he does play will the very least generate some cash.

I've since put Jono in, plus Bellchambers can slide into the rucks via DPP so I should be fairly well covered now.  As a visual, this is my most up to date team as of 30 seconds ago.

Very very good line up! That forward line could hold the team up itself! Very good structure overall and solid picks! I'd try and get Newton in though and get Acres off the field!
