SC coach reactions are funny is all. Take a look at TMitch for example. 1 bad game and coaches are planning for the worst.

With good reason! We know Longmire has something against him. Took so long to break into the side, has been playing great footy, then one bad HALF (which wasn't that bad, given the role Longmire gave him) ad he's subbed off. Longmire is a goose!

Sorry for going off topic. :P

^^ And hopefully he stays out so people are forced to waste a trade and Kennedy can continue to score like he did on Friday night (114) which I have no doubt is the effect of Mitch being subbed out giving JPK more stoppage work

Simple. If you want to hold your place in the Swans midfield and go missing for an entire half: Be Kennedy. Otherwise you're gone.

Not playing as a backman, has been playing off a wing.
He's been playing this role all season.  Sitting behind play and moving up onto the wing.

Let the cycle continue:

1. Saints play a low possession game, Newnes floats outside stoppages and goes missing.  Scores 50-70. Owners: "I'm such an idiot why do I keep this flog".
2. Saints keep competitve, Newnes plays well.  Owners: "Lol I'm so smaht thank god I kept him."
3. Repeat

Ends up averaging 85.
Newnes only has 3 scores 70 and lower this season.
Rd 1 vs GWS - 69
Rd 4 vs Carlton - 60
Rd 10 vs Hawthorn - 53

Since Round 6 he has gone: 87, 95, 92, 117, 53, 103, and now 133.

His average was 72.6 after 5 rounds.
His average once you include this weeks score: 86.92
His average if you take away his worst and his best score (53 and 133): 85.7

That's a big rise and that's a very good average to have at D6.

Now after 5 weeks I definitely can see why you would want to get rid of him, but it only confirms the mistake, 3% of all SuperCoach players agreed with you (His ownership dropp by 3% from Rd 5 to Rd 6). However I doubt at that point he was performing worse than the other 7 defenders people owned (McIntosh one example of a poor scorer) so why not ride it out and see if things change, upgrade your rookies, then make the luxury trades. If that was going to be his average he has lost all the cash he was going to lose already.

Next week he will $450,000 and with a 53 rolling out of his cycle. And only one score under his average in the last 7 matches, with 3 tons.

He has Essendon, GWS, Richmond in his next three. Two teams which he has given poor scores so far this season, and one top 8 side. Let's see what changes in 3 weeks. But it's unlikely in my case that he will leave my side.

Excellent summary PowerBug. I look forward to more hundreds from Newnes, I don't have enough trades left to flick him if I wanted to!

If he can score well against Essendon I will eat my words.  But the Bombers high possession play style is the complete opposite of what Newnes wants playing the role he is.

Grufflez

Was always going to have to keep one off Lumumba or Newnes and at the time when one was on the chopping bloke Newnes had put together scores of 87 and 93 or w/e and showed more promise, so he stayed Lumumba went, timing helped with that decision.

JPK scored less while Tmitch was off though

Was on like 70 at HT

2 Seasons ago I started the season with Jack Stevens as my roughie instead of the FF favourites of Barlow & Mundy.

After 6 weeks his scores were:  89 78 123 99 78 78.

Traded him out and the next week he went BANG ... finished the year averaging 110.

Not making the same mistake with Newnes.

GO NEWNES !!!
