Im just keeping him throughout. Wasted too many trades with the Ablett and Goodes debacles. Newnes getting 70-80 isnt too bad for someone at his price and if he can mix a few 100's with the occasional 60's then I am happy. May look to upgrade if I have luxury trades come finals.

Agree.  Would rather get my mids right first before I move to defenders.  I want to milk my cows and get prem mids ASAP.

A mid rookie (80) to premium (115) scores a hellalot more points than Newnes (70) to premium (90)

I'll hold him for now, I've got bigger problems atm.

I'll reassess later though.

But Newnes to a Hibberd or Smith/Simpson next week might only cost you 50-75k and those guys named can average 90-95 so yes Premo mids score better but they also cost a lot more, Fallen Premo Back 450k ish> Fallen Premo Mid 550kish (if looking at a top 10 chance)

There are currently 4 good rookie priced guys to bring in, and a couple of premos in other positions that I want. Once the majority of my team is done and I know where Newnes sits in comparison to the top defenders, I'll consider trading him.

The voice of Reason GL.    Newnes is not making me smile but compared to the pain of KK and Goodes he looks a million dollars.
Hopefully by the time I fix the rest of the backs and mids and rookies he has learnt to kick to a team mate and wont need to be traded.

Optimistic aren't I

Newnes costs alot more than a mid rookie though

Going from a mid rookie to a super premo mid is muxh harder than Newnes to a premo back.

This man needs to lift. I've not really been bothered by his scores until this week but now we're a month into the season and he hasn't done much. I know I'm not going to trade him yet because I'm not sure how much I'd achieve by doing so but I'm starting to regret the pick tbh.

Southstorm

I'll be rage trading him next week with the cash left over from my Goodes upgrade. Hopefully he makes his BE.

Said it earlier

Newnes is not a premo. He was touted as a breakout possibility, and it's just not happening

Yeah he "might" be able to average 85ish come seasons end, but the longer owners keep sitting tight and hoping, the further back you fall

If I was a Newnes owner I would be trading him ASAP. Just do it and move on :)
85 is fine for a defender this year mate

Is a long way off even averaging 85, couldn't be happier with my decision to punt him to from my side, complete an utter spud.
Except for the other players you involved in that trade :P

Woppa15

He hasn't had great scores this year but wasnt he playing a tagging role this week due to Weller being out....?

Yep, read through the last few pages and there's some stuff about that. Like Allan Richardson saying that it was a mistake to make him tag, so I'll doubt we'll see that happen again.

I'm holding, but he's on notice and skating on flowering thin ice!  >:(

with lots of cracks in it.

Very glad that I got rid of him at the start of last round before another drop in price.

If you're thinking that he's going to turn it around and become a keeper then I think you're kidding yourselves. We've all seen enough to know that he isn't going to make the cut.

He had breakout written all over him for this year and I was one of his biggest advocates but you gotta know when to hold 'em and know when to fold 'em.

It's time to fold.

This.
Other issues in the midfield that are bigger.

Besides Hodge (rest prone) and Brodie Smith, there isn't really any defenders setting the supercoach world alight. I'm keeping him and will only think about trading after the rest of my team is complete or a must have defender comes along.
