Didn't really know where to post this but... Is it annotating anyone that all our teams are the same? I know we're all here for advice but this year especially, teams are looking so similar.

Pretty much.

Simmo Shaw Newnes Lumumba Goodes rookies...
Mids are mainly 5 premo, a couple of pods, then 2 200k rookies, rookies...
Goldy Naitanui/Maric
Gray Martin Swan Salem Clark Hogan is pretty much every forward line.

Wait til teams are announced on Thursday - That will throw a spanner I'm guessing

Structures will be similar, and for good reason, but there are enough POD's to choose from if you want to move away from the cookie cutter players

Do you 2 think you could share your backlines if your not starting Newnes ?

Im a little on the fence also and not sure who to start if I don't have him..

I might still start him, but for now I've got 3 490k+ defenders plus Lumumba

Mat0369

I had Lumumba when he was a POD and now everyone has him   :(

If I was a hipster I would trade him out now, but I won't

Still an outside chance to make my team, but with the emergence of Goodes, Newnes misses out at the moment for me

Could still bring him in if I need to downgrade another defender to him to grab 50k

Apart from Mitch Clark, there is no bigger lock than this bloke imo.

That's a pretty big call - I haven't considered him once.

Not confident on many of the real back 'premiums' - Only gone with two of them + Lumumba, Ibbotson and Goodes

Yep you were the one that convinced me man. Shame, but can't have a team full of pods I guess

its unlucky, but he is a lock, and no pod  :'(

Instead of Shaw I've got a POD I haven't seen in many other teams, if any.  Well, his initials are J.K. and, while named as a defender, his coach is on record as saying he'll mainly be rotating through the midfield, with someone whose initials are J.B.

You're an ugly sucker, fid, but you sure know your football. ;)

84kg? That's only 12 less than JPK who he'll come up against. Good luck getting a kick when you're not sitting at half back by yourself Newnesy.
just thought I'd reply to this, Gazza is 85kg and Selwood is 86kg.

Jpk is a beast most mids dont stack up to him.

Yes Holz is correct. Jpk is one of the biggest bodied mids in the game. Back on track, lock Newnes in for top 15
Did I say that he wasn't? Just showing the fact that you don't have to be light weight to be a top fantasy scorer. Amazed you guys can't get your head around this.  :o

Ok

YoungGun

As RD has said earlier there is a reason for a ''cookie cutter'' team and many good coaches will have similar structures because thats where value is maximised. Back your picks even if they are popular and it might just be those 2,3,4 or 5 unique picks that allow you to beat the cookie cutter teams that simply go with the pack because they dont want to think for themselves

easy in theory, very hard in reality to nail each unique pick and get the leg up on everyone else

whynot102

Would Kelly or Hodge be better picks thoughts please

No. Newnes is cheaper and I think he will score better.

jfitty

Hodge will out score Newnes easily, even if he only plays 20 games.

Newnes is a good pick, but he could easily average 75-80 as much as he could average 95-100.

fan_king

Fools gold. what you pay is what you get, might go a couple points higher than previous avg but nothing great. Not a risky pick by any stretch but wont be a top 6-8 defender
