Pretty sure the Bombers play the highest possession game, Stanton gets just 25% contested and he's a good kick and he runs at 23.2 @73%. Newnes isn't better than Stanton at anything. Newnes kicks far less too, and it's pretty easy to nail an uncontested handball.

I'm also pretty sure that Mick had that game plan at Collingwood when Swan, Pendles, Thomas and Beams got bulk numbers. 25 touches a game isn't for anyone regardless of gameplan.

its rare but i have to agree with Meow on this one, don't like to be hoping for a break out. He isnt priced that much less than true premos. Not convinced he is that good a player.

Think he should push 90+ but only 50k more I'm looking at Andrew Walker!

Football Factory

Im on Newnes was praying he would get M/D looking like a gun player, second player I picked in my backline behind Hodgey.

Edit ..sorry always do this ..not sure how he scores in Supercoach. Was talking AFL Fantasy   :-X

defenders this year so not convincing

Picking shaw purely because I know he will kick it to himself after a point.

Simpson as I see him playing more midfield/wing than a defender

I picking newnes or hibberd at d3.
I feel like they will average similar.  have 80k sitting there for the upgrade.

I keep coming back to Elliot Yeo at d4. Coach loves him! His pace is needed at West Coast ... And I see an average of 85 in Yeo.

Waters

For now lever at d6 just for pricey placeholder, been talked up at crows but coming off ACL likely to be nursed into it

I haven't moved yeo out of my backline all pre season. Think he will outscore newnes at 100k cheaper

Well that was plain stupid sprinting into someone's knee. Won't be doing that again!

Haha nah fair game mate gotta give him that one :p

Thanks guys for all the awesome input here :)

I tend to agree with most, that Newnes probably isn't worth the risk because he is not cheap enough, and for 50k more you can get a guaranteed 90-95 from Hibberd, Birchall, Shaw etc etc

Still on the watch list and will see how he goes through NAB

But reiterates what i said. He was floating loose at the time and had no opponents!

Thats his role? Loose man in defence? Also he might've run off his opponent to make the play, you cant see it in the video!

Still didn't get a hard ball on this occasion ;). Thats why im saying he is good choice. Won;t get injured.

Newnes is worth the risk.

His back end of 2014, cumulated with a likely move to the midfield to me will see his average increase toward that 90-95 average.

As I stated above it is a risk, but it is a calculated risk.
