Maxwell captain 2009 to 2013, Pies made the finals EVERY year, top 4 2009 to 2012, Premiers 2010. All-Australian.

He is one of the best captaincy records in recent times....

I never really understood the Nick Maxwell hate.

Yes, he wasn't the most gifted player going around, but he was a quality leader with the record to prove it.

To be fair Sloane fulfills that requirement also but i think the tipping point was Tex signing a new deal.
