Be ready for Maxwell 2.0

Was just about to say.. Worst captain since maxwell!

Maxwell captain 2009 to 2013, Pies made the finals EVERY year, top 4 2009 to 2012, Premiers 2010. All-Australian.

He is one of the best captaincy records in recent times....
I never really understood the Nick Maxwell hate.

Yes, he wasn't the most gifted player going around, but he was a quality leader with the record to prove it.

Tex 'frothies' Walker a captain? Wow  :-X

Being captain is much more than being the best player on the squad.

True. I sure Tex brings plenty of maturity and leadership off the field.

I'll just leave this here...  :P

Whether Maxwell was the Captain with the least skills is an entirely different argument to his Captaincy ability

I think Tex has the support of the players, club and fans. Should be a great choice.

Nick Maxwell = Meh player, excellent captain.

One of the best captains of recent times. Up there with Browny and Gaz.

Grazz

Haha some funny comments and opinions. Liking it.  ;D

Sweetness

Always thought he would get it.
The moment Walsh said he wanted a leader on game day.

To be fair Sloane fulfills that requirement also but i think the tipping point was Tex signing a new deal.

Anyone watch the press conference and get the feeling there was a disagreement with this decision?

Some interesting comments from Walsh.

"There were some strong views expressed. This footy clubs not about blokes feeling sorry for themselves, that's the decision, say what you gotta say, we'll here it, but get on with it"

tbagrocks

Because James Hird, Ben Cousins and Wayne Carey never put a foot wrong! Not that butthurt Richmond supporters would know anything

three or four flags seems about right though!

Not sure about the fans side? All the femal crows supporters will love it but my facebook is full of pretty disgruntled crow supporters.

I know a few that will love the decision ;)

Of course there will be a few but plenty unhappy, whereas if went with Sloane everyone would be happy.
