Mid structure is 4 premos NVB and rookies.

got a 4/4/2/4 premo structure at this stage.

At this stage I have 6 premium mids
3 super prems, Dangerfield and 2 mids around 500k

But have Nic Nat luey

I am expecting both the 500k players to average around 105+
Luey to go 85
=295 @spend of 1.37mil
Value increase of around 250k plus 62k in bank plus saad fwd

If I went back to 5 premiums
Fyfe 120
NVB 70
Goldy 110
=295 @spend of 1.44mil
Value increase of around 185k
13k in bank plus rookie fwd

Hmmm the thoughts

Personally, I think to answer this question properly pre-season one needs to look at there M/F prems in balance to their mid prems. For instance I'm going    Ablett, Pendles,  Ward,  Murphy ans J Steven then rookies in the guts but have Gray,  Deledio,  Bennell,  Ryder and Bont in the forward line. Goldy and Nicnat in the ruck and then Bob's your uncle. The Bont position is either Bont or Swan depending what happens in the NAB. Whichever way I go I want to try and pick the 6th to 8th best mids to go with Gazza and Pendles starting off and upgrade to the other top mids as soon as affordable. Of course all this really depends on what the rookies show before Rd.1. Cheers and best of luck to all.     ;)

top level analysis, explains why you finished soo high.

on paper it looks like go with option 1, but i think it will take 1 extra trade minimum (likely 2)to end with only super premos in the team.

so 250k increase to me gets beaten by 185k increase + 1-2 trades. As I can turn those trades into at least 100k gain.

Money Shot

I currently have 5 600k plus NVB and 5 basement price players!
Is NVB that much of a lock though!?

Playing with Ablett, Pendles, Fyfe, Ward, Watson, Van Berlo and 2 rookies at the moment! Wouldn't mind taking Selwood and Parker over Fyfe and Watson for bye reasons. What would you rather, Fyfe and Watson probably safer?

At the moment im going with Pendles and Fyfe as my super premiums, danger as a value super premium and going with 2 very different PODs that i havent seen thrown up much.

Who are they ;) I too have a few but just not sure how to go about squeezing them in!

It is all going to depend on the available rookies in each position. I would be more then happy to fork out a bit of extra cash to upgrade a rookie on a weaker line that is likely to play or play and score back to back 30's before getting dropped for a a couple of mid priced players on both lines

So say 115 and 30 vs 100 and 60 I would take option 2 because you also get the cash generation and don't have to burn a  couple of trades dumping the spud later on for another cash generating rookie. The guy I am looking at for this would be Scott Selwood, he is priced at an 80 average but averaged over 100 the two previous seasons. It would also depend on Selwood's role in the side because playing as a permanent lock down player would hurt his scoring. Wells would obviously be the other one and then Rich comes after them. Even if I have to use a trade to upgrade Selwood I am still likely to come out ahead since he should hopefully earn enough coin to turn him into a premium relatively quickly. I did the same thing with Maloney and Wells in previous seasons, it doesn't matter how much they average at the end of the season, they just need to score well enough early to boom in price

That's why I went with Murph as well. Thought I had a magnificent 5 prem midfield until it was pointed out that 4 were Rd. 12 byes. Cheers.    ;)

i agree that the deciding factor is indeed the trades requires to complete midfield(team)

This is exactly what I was going through ... I worked out for option 1 to get to full premium and super prem mids I would only be left with 4 trades due to injury or whatever (I have allowed 2 trades for waters though so it's 6 trades if he remains injury free as he can score like a premo defender)

I shall make a topic on trading structure

Doggoneit

as far as M9 goes I will be using it with a viable cash generating player.
