With the AFL Prospectus now out, the changes to the scoring of rucks has been revealed. This may change peoples minds on how they enter the season. Based on the new scoring, all ruck men are expected to lose approx. 10 points off their 2014 average. Hit outs to advantage are now worth 5 points instead of 3, however no points are awarded for a hitout. Champion data are pretty much giving the points to the ruckmen that are effective with taps and win lots of ball around the ground. Will your structure change based on this as Jacobs and Goldstein will lose money off their starting price, and mid pricers like Leuenberger and Kreuzer won't make as much?

Arggh my prospects only getting here tomorrow but that's great news. But not very often you get 2 underpriced premiums as mid priced ruckman so I'll still be starting with them

Very interesting... Means more efficient ruckman are vital. Nic Nat loves a hit out to advantage. WHo else comes to mind?

Sam Jacobs is least affected by the new scoring losing only 7.1 points. Stefan Martin loses 10.3, Sandilands 10.9, Goldstein 9.7, Mumford 12.5. The best ruck man to choose will be those who pick up lots of possessions around the ground and tap effectively as well. Nic Nat would be my best bet to meet both of those.

Yeah. I wonder if someone has any stats on like there hitout/ hitout to advantage ratios.

There is a thread somewhere with that info in it, can't find it at the minute.

Not too many rucks rack up big possension numbers. Legend Dean cox would be perfect for these new rules. Kruez could be good one around ground...

I suggest no one gets McEvoy then. His hit outs to % were horrendous.
-NicNat
-Maric
-Mumford

They're 3 that come to mind that are handy with this.

How?

Mummy @ 27.2%

2014
Hit outs: 618 = 618 points
to adv: 168 = 336 points
total: 954 points/56.1 ppg

2015
Hit outs: 618 = 0 points
to adv: 168 = 840 points/49.4ppg

Not sure on how they have worked it out, seems a bit strange but we will just have to wait til NAB Cup and see how the scoring works. Also mentions that there will be a 'slight' decrease in points allocated to those that gather the hitout due to more points being awarded to the hit out to advantage, therefore midfielders are also affected by this, only very slightly though.

Better not pick Libba then. Minson to Libba was the highest ruck to rover combo for the last 2 seasons.

At least Kreuzer and Berger would make some money whereas the premium options are almost certain to drop in price due to these new ruck rules.

For the first time, I am actually seriously starting to consider the Kreuzberger combo with Bellchambers as back up. Surely 2 of them will play each week.

Then once the Kreuzberger has maxed out we can upgrade them to premiums. Who knows, maybe one of them will turn out to be a premium if they can remain injury free.
