Watching the Tigers vs Dogs replay atm. He's an impressive unit indeed!
It's no wonder they let Griffen go, this guy is like a young clone.

Except if it were the Wizard of Oz, Griff would be playing the Tin Man, and Bont would be playing...

Actually Bont would be in another movie giving Chuck Norris the beating of a lifetime!

frenzy

Bont must be due for a 62....Hawks this week coming off a loss... yep, maybe.

Yup pretty much.
I've got Gray, Bartel, Dusty & Swan and do not want to trade any of them.
So to get Bont in gota move some1 to the mids for now.
The Bont is a Mid/Fwd. Just play him in the mids.

BoredSaint

went full yolo and jumped on last week.

JUST A CASUAL 141 WOOOOOOT

I've just gone over some figures with the Bont and something is concerning me with his next few opponents

vs Haw (59)
vs Adel (DNP)
vs Sydney (42)
vs St Kilda (85)
vs Freo (63)

Interestingly, both West Coast & Richmond have never actually played against Bonts so probably gave him too much latitude. The above scores were also wedged in the middle of some hot form where he scored quite a few tons and 90+ scores. This has me concerned.

Grufflez

Great if you started with him, 90+ at 420k and some big price rises coming but don't think he is worth the trade, thought about it, and Youth + Bulldogs can't keep winning + even more credit & attention = not worth the trade in now chasing monster scores imo.

I'm getting cold feet with this one, if Ablett is to be traded I think it must be to a guy who can replicate his scores, Sloane appears to be as safe as houses in that regard. The other aspect of picking up Bont is his 30% ownership, not exactly a POD and a few dud scores could bridge the gap. Maybe it's time to zig while the others zag.

I fell that Bont can be a Fwd keeper.  I don't want 30% of teams getting a jump on me - I'm on now.  Using Ablett as the trade also allows me to upgrade KK to Smith next week - gaining another keeper.  This game is all about risk vs reward - I think it's worth the risk.  Goodes and Ablett out this week, Bont and Van Berlo in.

I'm just worried about the next 5 weeks, can he produce anything close to what he's done in the first two weeks? I think Bont's range will be 95-105 this year, I just don't want to jump on during a quiet patch. Interesting that the other young guns have all fallen in that range in their second year, Bennell at the lower end, Martin in the middle and Fyfe at the top end. Big decision coming up, haven't yet decided.

He's put 8kg on and has another preseason under his belt. He's played these teams once, and he was playing forward last year, he's on the pill now. You're suggesting that all of the above teams are bogey teams for him? Come on mate...

I'm not suggesting they are bogey teams but I am suggesting there will be a drop off in points, the Doggies could lose 4 out of 5 and I don't expect Bont to be given anywhere near the same latitude as the first two rounds.

Even if he averages 90-100 over those 5 games, getting a few less disposals and tackles, you'd take that from a $422k 2nd year player.

I would be happy with that, yes, but I'm concerned he will throw up a couple of 60's & 70's over the next few weeks.

jfitty

It's a bit tough bringing up his scores last year since this year it seems he's having a 'breakout'.

The thing that does it for me is the ownership percentage, almost 40%! Wow. It's worth jumping on just to be part of the pack if he does manage to maintain a healthy average.
