I'm rolling the dice on him over Swannie (Big call I know) but I think this kid is a big midfield who is going to be very hard to tag.

Especially if he has put on 5kg over the summer as reported.

Im doing the same...
Me too. Will be a massive advantage if Swanny doesn't got 100+

Ditto.
Me too

Well hopefully us 5 will be smiling soon  :D
Top 5 at the end of the year anyone?

Fools!

Can't believe this. Choosing a second year player who averaged 78 or so compared to a gun with 7 years of 100 and 4 of 120+. Silly

Risk v reward. Nothing ventured nothing gained (I hope)

Torpedo10

Lost 15 points on him with Nic NAT but the cash and ruck security with Belly makes up for it. Again, I see Bont having a fair few 70 weeks. Did well today though.

He will attract plenty of attention this year which will stop him from being the supercoach beast he will eventually become. It will probably stop him from winning Charlie as well.

I estimate that the attention he will get will restrict him to a 105 to 110 average.

;D :D ;D :D

I have to admit I got this wrong

I thought it would take a few games, 1 at least, especially being schooled by someone as good as Scooter.

But no, I have severely underestimated the Bont - it only took one quarter for him to shake the tag

History says likely to have some down spells.  will need to learn to manage tag as well.  but super impressive footballer.  I would be very happy to get 100pt average for 420K.  Can trade him up for 550K for prem around byes.  Still has possible upside to 110k avg and keep.   Come byes where will cotchin, lids and dusty be?   if you had to pick one to be at 110k who would it be?  Not guaranteed better than bont and save 100-120K

juzztheball

What are peoples thoughts? Name was mentioned sporadically during NAB. I traded him in last minute for Swanny  :-X

The kid scored 124 in a game where he had 22 disposals (of which im sure half were handballs) and was worn like a flowering glove by Scott Selwood. And if im not mistaken it was his first time he'd ever received a tag in a game? Keeping in mind he was 6 pts at quarter time, so he scored 118 in 3 quarters...

Bonti drew comparisons to Pendles before he was drafted, but im pretty sure even Pendles was still chasing his tail around like any other young kid playing AFL with 14 games under his belt. The way Bonti not only shook the tag but turned the game back in our favour numerous times last night was unbelievable. His composure in traffic... there'd be 200 gamers who would envy his ability to duck, weave and spin out of trouble and hit a target under extreme pressure.

The kid is a flowering jet. IMO lock him in and throw away the key. I only pray that he stays loyal to the doggies and we dont lose him... The young pups are starting to show some genuine promise!!

YoungGun

Absolute jet, cant disagree with that. Only thing you'd have to consider is can he keep it up for 22 games?

With the plethora of genuine fwd premos this year Im not sure he is worth the risk, but can completely understand choosing him

Slashers

If he backs it up, might stick him in the guts on the bubble.

Should pick Lewis Taylor instead.
