Profile

A ball magnet as a junior, Kennedy has continued that trend in the VFL but has been a regular victim of the green vest at AFL level. When he has had an opportunity to play full games he's scored well, with an unsubbed average of 74.3 in 2014. If you extrapolate out his vested games he would have regularly been scoring 70's and 80's. The major stumbling blocks are clearly job security and substitutions, he played six of the last nine games so that's a positive sign for his future in the team and the last two were unvested. There continue to be issues around his ball use and the fact Collingwood have some similar type players but if he can continue to build his tank and push more into the midfield that will help greatly. Kennedy is priced at just 14k more than Mitch Clark and I don't have much doubt about his ability to out-average Clark, it's just a matter of if he can do it early in the season when money making is so crucial.

Pros - Ball magnet, improving js, underpriced

Cons - Vests, js

Prediction - 62-65

Certainly worth considering if he can translate some of his VFL form into the AFL and avoid the vests.
