TEAM NAME: NAB Sitter
DEF: H. Shaw, A. Walker, J. Newnes, B. Waters, B. Whitecross, H. Goddard (E. Vickers-Willis, H. Wigg)
MID: G. Ablett jnr, S. Pendlebury, N. Fyfe, J. Selwood, C. Ward, N. van Berlo, J. Laverde, N. Freeman (J. Steele, N. Krakouer, K. Lambert)
RUC: M. Kreuzer, M. Leuenberger (T. Read)
FWD: B. Deledio, L. Franklin, D. Martin, D. Swan, T. Bellchambers, M. Clark (J. Hogan, C. Daniel)
CASH LEFT: $25,000

D: think i said before but word is that WhiteX wont be right come Round 1 and may be given time in the twos to build his case. Walker has also had a clean out of his knee I think, nothing major but something to be wary of and keep on top of. I actually like the pick of him as a POD. Other premos are good but there is something about Shaw that I just dont like. Always has a brain fade or something and think GWS skillful youngster may begin to go past him. Slim pickings though!

M: Fyfe I put in the same category as Shaw. Is good but always misses games. Solid pick though, and love the Ward pick! I have him currently and think he is in for a massive year. I have gone against NVB. Once you have a good look at his past performances I think he us going to be a very slow burn and there may be better money making options around his price.

R: you know the risks involved. Not something i want to have to worry about and I think the ruck rule may hurt their money making potential as well, especially with them lacking match fitness.

F: cant fault. Pretty much flawless!

I'm 90% sure that defence will have to change... And I think you know it too...
Midfield 5 premos is a worry, too much $$ there. Say you went selwood to Biggs... 458k left now.
Whitecross > Premo
Krooz > Nicnat
Then Upgrade walker to 100% keeper.

Too me those changes give you 1 extra 100% keeper.

I think many going 4 rookie defence will get caught out even if it is whitex.
It's still a great team MS! Your player selection is spot on
I have looked at that option but think 5 mids and 4 forwards that will all score around 110 (average it out between them) each week is a great way to start.
Im going cheap in the rucks as no one really knows who will be affected and by how much and this option gives me the chance to see how every thing pans out over the first 7-8 rounds.
I do agree with my defence though and I have no Idea what I am going to do with it.
Most of my other lines are completely locked until the nab cup and I don't have a single lock in this line.
(really considering going 2/3/3 structure there with 2 premiums 3 mid pricers and 3 rookies)

Im not a huge fan of Shaw either but wit his bye and no real picks down back this year he is looking like he deserves a spot in my side even if he misses 3-4 games. Walker is being monitored closely by me as if he is playing that half forward flank kind of role he will score low 80s which is not what you want for premium defenders from the get go. Yeah whitex is looking like he has to go.

Fyfe is all but locked for me. Ward will be top 3 mids come seasons end in my opinion. NVB im thinking of changing to Biggs but that's more of a NAB cup thing.

Obviously the rucks are risky but I am thinking the opposite way to you. Kreunberger is going to make 50-100k each and although it isn't really that much I think the new ruck rule will see premium rucks hovering around 500k which is almost a straight swap. They just need to stay fit.

cheers.

best of luck mate.

Played with the three strucutes I like the most.
Really liking the look of Team 1.

Love your guys thoughts.

Holz

I like the cheap forward team, looks very solid. than again its almost my team so of course i like it.

the cheap defense/ruck team looks like it will fall apart with 1-2 injuries and rookies getting dropped (which will probably occur)

Yeah hahah thought you would like that team ;)
Yeah although I think id get off to a great start it wouldn't make much money and is way to risky!

Defence: Shaw is going to score better with his team getting more competitive, Hibberd is having a great pre season getting more lean, Walker is one of the best defenders running of the half back and if so he is a lock for me (will be watched closely) Newnes is set to be the 'Swallow' of this year so think he is worth taking the punt on as I don't see him getting worse so at D4 he has earns him self a spot. Waters could easily be a keeper and even if he isn't he should make a nice 100k or so (lets just hope he doesn't have any more walking accidents :P). Goddard I see getting early games so he is there. Other two are just place holders who look like they could get games.

Midfield:
My opinion on Ablett is he is too risky to start without, don't want to be missing out on 150s every few weeks. Pendles is super consistent and good for 100 at least every week. Fyfe is nursing that shoulder injury which has always troubled him but even so I think he is still under-priced. Ward will go huge this season, Having him last year was amazing he would get 100s of 20 possession games. NVB is battling for my 200k M6 but he is the one that will get games so that's why he is there at this stage. Freeman is looking the goods and I was considering him at 175k last year and now he is 50k cheaper. All others are place holders that I have heard good things about

Rucks: Although I love Kreuzer and Leuy having both Goldy/Nic Nat in my team is an amazing feeling :P. Goldstein is a gun ruckmen who is consistent and doesn't miss games im expecting around 105 this year with the new ruck rule. Nic Nat is still well under-priced being the #1 ruck and being fit think he could easily be top scorer for the rucks by the end of the year if he stays fit.

Forwards:
Franklin is underpriced and is versing teams he usually dominates first up so get on him now. Martin I love as a player and he is more consistent then people give him credit for. Watch him go huge this year and shock everyone 8). Swan is obviously a guy capable of averaging 120 so why wouldn't you want that in your forward line at 468K. Clark has had experience being a full forward at weak clubs and still played well so at Geelong with more talent around him I think he could be good for a 75 avg. Hogan is already one of the better players at Melbourne so again at 130k he is a lock. Laverde is a gun. Wish Carlton picked him up :-[. Daniel is killing it this pre season so had to find a way to get him in. Krakouer if upgraded is a lock.

Bye Structure 8/10/12

14 keepers along side with Waters is great in my opinion as ia m seeing teams with 11-12 which are looking pretty strong as well so this gives me a slight advantage with 2 less upgrades I need to do.

I am a lot more confident in this team with more depth down back as having 4 rookies from the get go would probably back fire down the track. Although I am weak up forward all the rookies I have picked are looking to not only get games but score quiet well also.

Thanks to Holz for the idea on the structure it looks like it is the good way to go. 8)

Would love your thoughts on this team.

Cheers MS.

My worry us your forward line, Clark has never played a full season, plus has already had injury trouble in the preseason and is basically an accident waiting to happen. Hogan has well documented back injuries, and don't be surprised if he gets managed through the season.
That puts a lot of strain on your 3 rookies to be playing most weeks to cover these 2.
Whilst I do agree that there is value in the forward line, you need to be careful because clark and Hogan are rookie priced so if they both go down the your cover options will be limited.
Other than that your other lines are pretty solid, although some coverage for nic nat is probably a good idea because he is also injury prone.

For now I'm happy with the team as is!
But Selwood to Rookie gives me a premium and a mid pricer if needed!

you also have a forward on your mid bench so thats 4 rookies covering that line not 3.

I'm doing the same if you have a cheap forward line you need that cover and this way you basically have a forward bench of 3 players.

eaglesman

Have picked him but not convinced krak will crack the side
