I like the look of your nab sitter side. Gets you NVB in your mid by not having Goldy there. And like the premo defernders in your side for nab sitter too!

Yeah so do I!
It gives me a chance to look at the players in my other side (Walker, Taylor, Newnes) to see if they are going to be worth a spot in my side and in my opinion Kreunberger is a lock if fit.

Whilst I do like you team(s), another option to play around with is only having 4 premium mids.

Definitely have concerns with both Waters at D4 AND 2 mid-price rucks. I feel like having NVB at M5 could well allow you to strengthen both lines. If the rookie options are plentiful in the mids, and bare down back, that's what I would do. Guess that's what the NAB cup is for!

Yeah I was thinking about it.
But really that's extra points I'm losing!
But I would get an extra keeper or 2!

TEAM NAME: NAB Sitter
DEF: H. Shaw, A. Walker, J. Newnes, B. Waters, B. Whitecross, H. Goddard (E. Vickers-Willis, H. Wigg)
MID: G. Ablett jnr, S. Pendlebury, N. Fyfe, J. Selwood, C. Ward, N. van Berlo, J. Laverde, N. Freeman (J. Steele, N. Krakouer, K. Lambert)
RUC: M. Kreuzer, M. Leuenberger (T. Read)
FWD: B. Deledio, L. Franklin, D. Martin, D. Swan, T. Bellchambers, M. Clark (J. Hogan, C. Daniel)
CASH LEFT: $25,000

Defence: Shaw, Walker and Newnes are all looking the goods at the moment and I am expecting a 95 average from Shaw and Walker and a 90 average from Newnes. Waters and Whitecross are both locked for me if fit and playing, can both go around 80 in my opinion and for 260K and 190K they should make heaps of cash. I have actually looked at rookies a bit and believe all 3 are capable of getting games and think Goddard is a deffinant starter. Think he can go around 60.

Midfield: This is where I have spent a lot of my money and went big in the mids last year from the get go and it did alright for me averaging in the top 100 until the end >:(. I believe my first 5 mids will be top 5 come seasons end and I believe they will average 120ish. NVB is a lock for me although he wont score hugely he will be a constant 70 each week. This week I have looked into the rookies and Laverde and Freeman look like getting games and look like decent scorers each week. Bench rookies I don't know to much about but they are being talked up a bit on this site.

Rucks: All you have to do is look back 2 years ago where both my rucks were averaging 90+. That is a good enough reason to warrant a spot in my side. Also with the new ruck rule we don't know how much it will affect players so I think we should wait and see before we choose our premiums and even if both Kreuzer and Leunberger only get 80s each week which is what im expecting they will still make heaps of money (100kish). Yes they are injury prone but Kreuzer is training the house down (like the 750 other players) and Leuy is taking more caution in his pre season this year to stay fit. I know a lot of you guys are against this strategy and I completely see where you are coming from. But two 80-85 averages from 370k is good enough for me. Read there for the dpp link.

Forwards: This is another line where I have spent my money as there are so many 110+ options this year. Believe the forwards I have picked will be top 6 alongside with Gray (who is an upgrade target) and Goddard who I am considering very strongly also. I believe the players I have picked I think can all go around 105-110. Belly is there for ruck cover and although I don't really like him if he is fit surely he can average around 80?. Clark and Hogan are locks with a 70avg at below 200K and Daniel is apparently already dominating at the doggies.

Bye Structure: 10/10/10 which Is pretty good. With my premium/mid pricer bye structure being 5/7/4 which isn't great but is easily manageable and I don't believe picking players for byes is the way to go as you could start 10 points behind everyone else.

Thinking that this is the side too sit on for the nab cup

Keep on rating guys you are helping heaps.

Like it MS.
My only queries are on Walker and the rucks.
If walker plays the rebounding half back role then he could be a good choice but there has been talk of him returning forward where he's never managed more than low 80s. Would watch and see where he lines up during nab.

Have expressed my views on the rucks before. Can just predict them being frustrating. I personally only pick mid pricers that I believe can become keepers but I don't see that for these 2. Can understand your reasons though and could definitely pay off

Nice side to sit on for the nab, now the tricky part of not touching it until then :P

Yeah as a Carlton supporter my self I am aware that Walker is looking to play forward but I think if he is playing that half back role he can easily push 100avg although I think 95 is more likely.

Kreuzer I really like and it is frustrating watching him always get injured and also what is even more annoying is Mick wanting him to play forward and leave spuds like Wood and Warnock in the ruck :'(

thanks for you thoughts make and no doubt there will be a new team up tomorrow :P

H, i MS,   a lot to like about your team.
DEF   A big watch on the three "W"s  in the NAB. Walker, Waters and Whitecross. I'm sure I read somewhere that Whitecoss is likely to be a late starter. Very solid and well balanced.

Mids   Close to the best 5 starting for you. You have 3 Rd.12 prems but you must have 3 / 3 / 2 at the least if your mids are finalized by  the beginning of the byes so I wouldn't be too concerned about that. Besides the better the players the higher the points. Great midfield but you may have to lose one if your ruck choice becomes a bit suss during the NAB.

Rucks.   This is where you have sacrificed to build your team so strong. If both play NAB and do well then you'll probably stick with this. Both ruckmen can score well and definitely have the potential to make good dollars and be stepping stones. Don't think either can become prems this season but if they could play up to the byes at least then you may be laughing. Might go something like this myself as it would get me another super prem but went the other way for now to give myself another option.

Fwds   Great line, no suggestions or knocks.   Reckon you''ll be up the top again this season as well. Cheers and best of luck.
P.S   I swapped Gray to Martin and Sloane to Fyfe.

Really strong team MS.   WhiteX is a wait and see starter so you will probably end up with 4 back rookies.
Great Mids.
Valid Ruck strategy to free up cash for other lines and enables you to have very strong forward line.    As RD said good cash generating possibilities in tmitch with upgrade to Franklin later.    Personally prefer 2 premo rucks with trade coverage

You are very active on the boards and your insight is much appreciated.  Keep it up MS

Cheers I am looking into Tmitch currently but doubt I will start him. He is on my watch list.

Yeah I think I will end up with 4 back rookies just hoping they all get up and get a gig.

cheers mate.

Edit: Goddard out Franklin in. (Franklin's run is amazing and he could easily turn into a super premium where as Goddard is more of a consistant 100-105avg therefore the perfect upgrade target.

You have summed up and justified all of your selections and I think you are spot on.
Love the walker pick down back as a unique.
Ward in the midfield could push towards the 120 mark this year.
Surprised by the lack of Dustin Martin in teams this year. He is on the up and locked in my team.

Great side 9/10

Yeah I Martin isn't as popular as I thought he would be but hey its good for us ;)
I also love the Walker pick although only if he is playing that half back role.
Ward will be the top midfielder this year I reckon 8) :P
Cheers mate best of luck.

Made a few slight modifications to the team.
Goddard to Franklin is the only one concerning premiums.

With the rookies I have tried to get a lot of rookies that have forward status in the midfield for when the byes come it will give me a lot of flexibility.

I'm 90% sure that defence will have to change... And I think you know it too...
Midfield 5 premos is a worry, too much $$ there. Say you went selwood to Biggs... 458k left now.
Whitecross > Premo
Krooz > Nicnat
Then Upgrade walker to 100% keeper.

Too me those changes give you 1 extra 100% keeper.

I think many going 4 rookie defence will get caught out even if it is whitex.
It's still a great team MS! Your player selection is spot on
