If eagles were to play this week waters would be in the starting 18 ... Great news for our backlines
Pefrect thats what we like to hear.

On Whitecross. When he was coming off knee last time he played 2 VFL games and then straight back into the team. They value him highly. If he plays in NAB then expect to see him RD 1.

Holz

If he doesn't play we might as well just give up as will need a 6 premo backline.

Potentially massive news here.  :o

I'm told @WestCoastEagles defender Beau Waters is considering retirement - announcement by weeks end.

The epitome of a tough defender. One of my favourite guys to watch play; not for his silkiness, not for his flair or talent, but just the way he goes about it. I don't even care about my SC when it comes to this bloke, I just want to be able to see him put 1 more year together, as I know most do!

Yep, exactly right. I'm beyond caring about him as a SC prospect, I just wanna see fully fit and playing footy again.

Being honest if he is having issues he is better off retiring and I would rather see him give the game away then do further damage trying to come back. I think Adam Simpson said that they want to look after his quality of life post footy and make sure that he can pick up his kids. At the end of the day it is just a game

It's a career, too.

But yes, I agree, I'd hate to imagine his shoulders when he's still only 60. But the same goes for plenty of guys, plenty will have to manage their knees for the rest of their lives (Cooney's bone on bone, Riewoldt...). In the good ol' days, an ACL tear wasn't even fully recoverable.  Even Daniel Bell and his memory issues already.

While this is true, Beau is a smart guy, I am sure if he wanted to stay involved with Footy he could get a coaching gig somewhere.

Gee whiz he's done.  What a tough gig.

Yep, Beau Waters is officially done. Announcement tomorrow. Sad way to end career. Shoulder rooted. Tough as nails.

Posted here last year that he is one setback away from calling it quits.
My second favorite Eagle, after Cousins, of all time.

My favorite player, the epitome of how aussie rules should be played.
So so sad to see him go. Was being groomed for the last half decade as the next captain and would have been an incredible leader.

Thanks for the memories

reported in Thursday's Sun that Beau Waters is about to retire,
there goes the defence lines again.  May resort to filling my defence backwards, cheapest first, until the last two positions and then get Malcheski and the next best. Prioritize the better scoring lines first. What are you thinking of doing, apart from waiting for the NAB ??
