I feel mids are strong, looking at Ward to continue his natural progression and Parker to at least maintain.
Def is the hardest to stick with but believe Newnes is in for a breakout year and hoping Waters and WhiteX can contribute consistently and be good stepping stones and maybe even a D6  :P
Plenty of Mid/Fwd premos to choose from but believe Mitchell will be the one to step in after Malceski's defection and even though Swan is ageing surely last year was an apparition and he can maintain a 95-105 avg.

DEF: Prety weak at the bottom end tbh mate. With the loss of Waters most will be going with an Ibbo/Yeo type at D5, then Whitecross at D6. Might have look at strengthening this back end. You're top end premos are perfect though. And to be honest I have been looking at Steinberg, he should get opportunities this year imo. He's just a little weak for D5.
MIDS: Love your premo picks mate and your rookies are fine at this stage.
RUCKS: Very strong but with no cover. Hopefully a rookie ruck pops up for round 1
FWDS: TMitchell is a ripper pick and I've been trying to fit him in. Your other three premos are perfect as well and fairly unique atm. Rookies are fine at this stage

Overrall its a solid side mate, just need to look at strengthening that backline. You may have to drop a fwd premo down to a rookie or look at Krooz in the rucks. Because I really think a rookie at D5 and D6 will hurt you too much

Yeah the backline is pretty much the only line I'm consistently having trouble with.

The reason behind Steinberg is that I read somewhere that he was killing it this pre season, I think he'd even been winning the time trials.

Had Waters and WhiteX but obviously dumped Waters now and WhiteX went then too cos of the injury risk but I think I'll bring him back in until after the Nab Cup.

Not much more to add from what Rico has said. That backline is just too vulnerable. Just because someone won a time trial doesn't mean they will be a SC gun :)

Get rid of Steinberg, and bring in Whitecross for D6. DVR, Lever and Goddard are the popular rookie picks, but they are not locks to play, actually probably more a chance of not starting round 1, but that's all we have for now, so 2 on the bench is fine, but not on the field for now. Not sure how you can generate cash to upgrade D5 and bring in Waters though... Downgrade NVB or Goldy?

No Pendles or Swan?  :o

DEF: like the first 4, tick. Steinberg won't be getting regular games with Gwilt now in the team. Hopefully he can replace Fletch and play as a third tall behind Hookesy and Hurls in a few years time, but it won't be this year unfortunately. Richo has seemingly ruled Goddard out of early featuring early as well. Work on getting a couple of stronger options there instead, maybe Yeo/Ibbo/Waters/Macmillan and Whitecross/ZJones/Lever. It's always easier to downgrade them IF cheaper options come along, rather than vice versa.

MID: 4 top 7 mids, tick. Allows you to have both NVB and Biggs who should score well and make plenty of cash. I like this line, one of the better 4 premium midfields I've seen.

RUC: 2 solid premiums. Hopefully an R3 comes along, otherwise you're a bit short of cover.

FWD: really solid premiums, but WAY too round 12(?whatever the second one is) heavy. Get at least a Deledio/Dusty in there. No Swan is interesting, too. Personally, I don't think he'll get back to his best, but the thing is, he doesn't have to to average 100!

Bennell should explode, but his durability is a serious issue. I'm not sure I see Titchell just walking in and pumping out tons, either. Throw in Buddy who won't play 22 games and BJ who has the same bye, someone has to go. I'd say BJ to Dusty since that will get you the most money, and Titchell/Bennell down to Belly. If you don't like Belly, maybe Goldy to Kreuz, but they're probably a pair of trades where you both or neither, aren't they. All 3 though would give you plenty of cash to sure up your defence, so have a play around perhaps.

When you sent me a PM there was no team listed. I will make comments here though.

I 100% agree with the comments Hibb made about Steinberg. He is a long term project and I would not expect him to get early games. Also H.Goddard won't get games early either based on the comments made by Richardson on the AFL website - need to have another look at the defence.

I am steering clear of GWS mids. There is too much conjecture over roles and the unknown over the split of points with their mids. Ward to me is an upgrade target.

Too many Rd 12 players. need to get some rd 11 premos in. Look at Lids and Martin forward. Both should end up in the top 8 forwards and have high ceilings. I don't know why anyone would not pick Dane Swan if he is named in the Pies side in round one.

I'm not all that keen to have so much cash invested into D5 to be honest. I'd rather spend it at D4. All hinges on what kind of promise Salem shows in the NAB. Hopefully hes not the Karnezis of '15.

I'm probably even secretly hoping he spuds it up royally and makes the decision an easy one for me haha
