Def:
Smith. Hibberd. Rampe. Newnes. Waters. Colquhoun. (Goddard. JK.)

Mid:
Gaz. Pendles. Jelwood. Fyfe. Parker. Brayshaw. Heeney. Freeman. Cockatoo. (Steele. Walsh.)

Ruck:
Goldy. Nic Nat. (Cox.)

Fwd:
Bennell. Titchell. Lycett. Clark. Hogan. Pickett. (Krakouer. Yet to be decided Rookie.)

$190,500 remaining.

Tried to go mostly G'n'R bar a couple. I think Malceskis departure finally opens the door for Titchell and with his first full pre season I'm expecting big things.
Going for the set and forget Ruck option.
Lycett isn't set in stone, if he were $70k cheaper then maybe. Still tossing up whether to provide ruck cover or just be happy to sideways should any injuries occur.
Purposely left WhiteX out as I heard he will miss the first 5 or so rounds and return through VFL, may be a good early downgrade target.
Obviously room to move with Rookies.

Have you checked your team for the byes ??   You have 7 Rd. 12 byes just in your midfield. A great defence, but your forward line suffers because of it . There are so many mid/for you can stack your forward line with and they will score very high points for you. The defence will be the lowest scoring line so why not weaken it and go heavier up forward ??   Cheers, best of luck and enjoy the game    :)

Hadn't taken byes into account initially, just wanted to get a full team and then go from there.

I was worried about my fwd line, thinking I will dump the Lycett ruck cover idea and just sacrifice a trade should one get injured.

So......V 1.0000001

That teams already looking better.
Good to see Some unique picks and a better bye structure.

Backs- Pretty good defence, dont think Colquhoun will play early and if so he may get the vest a lot, i think there are better rookie options such as Mcguiness, Mckenzie, Dick. but rookies will become clearer as we get close to round 1. Other than that the backs are very similar to mine, i like the Smith and Newnes picks especially

Mids- Once again great midfield, Parker is a good POD hopefully he takes his game higher again. Good balance of rookies and premos. Strong midfield.

Rucks- Very popular combo ive seen in most teams and for good reason. Nic nat hopefully stay injury free this year.

Forwards- Looks good, Bennell and Titchell should break out again and hopefullyaverage close to 100.

Overall really good team, not a lot id change actually. Good luck for the year

Think I'm set on this team until the preseason now.

Pretty happy with it actually, would love to have Fyfe in but byes don't allow it without losing Gaz, Pendles or Parker.

About the only concern I have is which Premo Fwds to play this year, there's so many.

Woppa15

So I'm now thinking I may go Fyfe in Pendles out.

Reason being Pendles is super consistent and I don't think his price will fluctuate too much.

Fyfe I think has a higher ceiling and his price could rise considerably if he keeps up his form from last year and his natural progression.

So start Gaz, Fyfe, Jelwood, Ward, Parker and rookies with Pendles is an upgrade target for Rnd 13.

It oddly makes a lot of sense to me but I also feel somewhat disadvantaged by not starting Pendles.

Love to hear your thoughts, am I talking gibberish or making sense?

I juat think pendles will have a better start to the season than what Fyfe will ...

Even with the departure of Beams and Ball? Pendles is a star and carries that side on his shoulders but it's gotta give at some stage, the young guys hoping to step into the midfield aren't gonna be able to fill the void left by Beams and Ball

Disagree... Swan (back to his best), greenwood (showed what he is capable of and he has more to give), both Adams and Thomas improving should be able to fill the void you speak of...

And they have Freeman/De Goey I think the midfield will be just as strong or stronger this year.

Add broomhead and Kennedy who ARE in the best 22. Aswell as Elliot who I see venturing into the midfield. There is much midfield depth at Collingwood now rather than just the guns we are accustomed to...

I don't doubt that there is some depth and talent coming into the midfield but the young guys you've mentioned are developing footballers, even collectively they aren't at the caliber that Beams and Ball are/were. As with all of the younger AFL players they will take time to deliver and deliver consistently. I think it will be an up and down year for the pies midfield.

Just thinking with the consistency of Pendles, sidey and swan the other 5 or 6 around them may be inconsistent but if atleast 2 of them perform a week those guys performances will come close to what beams and ball produced. Hence why depth is important...

However going back to your point Fyfe v Pendles...

In my opinion The Knife will outscore Pendles so no matter the situation with Collingwood TRUST IN THE KNIFE!
